The PlayStation 5 exclusive title Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is almost out on PC and it also brings good news for Steam Deck users. The title is now officially Steam Deck verified and has gotten the green light to run on the handheld.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a Go On The Steam Deck
Previously, the developers and Sony claimed that the title isn’t possible without the PS5’s super-fast SSD. But things have now taken a turn as it’s even coming out for the Steam Deck. Additionally, even the PCs that have HDDs will be able to run the title.
Insomniac announced this new development through a Tweet, which took everyone by a pleasant surprise. Now how well Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart has been optimized for the Steam Deck is yet to be seen.
Additionally, Ratchet and Clank didn’t release on the PlayStation 4. Sony and Insomniac stated that’s because of the SSD requirement. But now, seeing the port will be on HDDs as well, maybe the PS4 could run the title too? However, again we don’t exactly know how it performs at this point and it probably will have quite downscaled graphics.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is one of the best (then) exclusives that have launched so far for the PlayStation 5 and it’s good to see Sony is focusing on the PC ports a lot as well. The game will be out later today.
