Remedy Shares Update on Alan Wake 2 Including Concept Artwork

During the Alan Wake Anniversary Update, Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy shared an update about the development of Alan Wake 2. Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porreta, the model and voice for Alan Wake respectively were also present. Lake, says that they will not be revealing more information about the game soon. He adds,” We’ve been talking the past couple of months and we’ve come to a decision that we will not be showing anything big this summer”.

He further says ”We want to make sure that we are creating the best possible experience the best first survival horror game for Remedy. We don’t want to pivot the team away from that focus to work on a demo right now.”

Alan Wake 2: What’s The Update So Far?

During the event, Lake confidently says everything is going really well and a great deal of the game is playable. So, with that, we can be sure that Remedy is working on the game with full force. In addition to all this information, they shared concept art for the game as well.

Alan Wake 2 was first revealed at The Game Awards in 2021 with an amazing teaser trailer. It was announced that the game would be moving towards a survival horror theme as opposed to an action-adventure one like its predecessor. The game will be powered by Remedy’s own Northlight Engine as well.

The first game and its expansions received critical acclaim from fans and critics. A remastered version was also released in 2021. Alan Wake appeared in another Remedy game, Control, and its DLC titled ‘AWE’. Alan Wake and Control are both parts of the same “Remedy connected universe,” according to Remedy. They also said that the next game following Control will be part of this universe. That might be Alan Wake 2 but we’ll have to wait a bit for any news.
