While the developers 4A have been rather quiet about it, a new report has suggested that the Metro Exodus sequel is now fully playable. The original game from 2019 received some really great reviews from fans and critics alike. 4A generally has done well over time with the Metro titles and we expect this one to be no different.
Metro Exodus Sequel Could be Revealed This Year
Insider Gaming announced the news through their latest report, claiming it came from their own sources. Though generally quite scarce, some details on the title have been revealed. The sequel’s development is going quite well and will probably be announced later this year with a launch in 2024. However, these are just tentative dates and will likely be subject to change.
The source has also revealed a few details on the Metro Exodus Sequel’s setting. The game picks off with the main character having a dream and then you wake up at your operations base. The title will follow the old Metro formula by integrating stealth, crafting, action, and more.
The Metro Exodus sequel was initially announced back in 2020. 4A announced that they were building the new title for the current-gen consoles and PC. The title will take advantage of the team’s years of experience and the in-house engine will receive a complete overhaul. Utilizing the new hardware for a good ray tracing experience was also a major highlight.
For now, that’s all the information we have on the Metro Exodus sequel. 4A hasn’t made anything official yet but considering the reliability of the source the announcement could be coming soon.
