Returnal is one of those titles that you might not have heard of but is underrated. The game officially launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. But it was revealed that it would soon be ported over to PC as well. Now, after almost 2 years, Returnal is set to launch on PC in February. It can also be pre-ordered on Steam right now.
Returnal PC to Launch in February
The awaited Returnal PC port will arrive on February 15, 2023. The official announcement has been made through a trailer that details the game’s features on PC. For starters, ray-traced shadows and reflections are a highlight from the trailer to deliver those magnificent next-gen visuals. All modes of optimizations including Nvidia’s DLSS, NIS, and AMD’s FSR have been included. And they are kind of necessary owing to the game’s massive system requirement on PC.
The port also adds ultra-wide monitor support as those screens become more common. It will support both 16:9 and 32:9 monitors. It also adds support for the DualSense controller so you can experience the haptics and adaptive triggers on your PC. Plus there is support for Dolby Atmos sound as well.
About the Game
Returnal is a third-person shooter that was originally launched on PC by the developer Housemarque.
After crash-landing on this shape-shifting world, Selene must search through the barren landscape of an ancient civilization for her escape. Isolated and alone, she finds herself fighting tooth and nail for survival. Again and again, she’s defeated – forced to restart her journey every time she dies.
Returnal Steam Listing
The game offers fast-paced action-packed gameplay. Every loop when the character dies offers new learning opportunities, empowering you to push your boundaries and approach combat with a different strategy each time.
For those wishing to play Returnal on PC the system requirements are hefty. You’ll need at least an RTX 2070 Super to play the title at 1080p 60 FPS and an RTX 3080ti for 4K at 60 FPS.
