After almost 16 years since launch, Roblox is coming to PlayStation and Meta Quest. The popular title released back in 2006 and since then has been missing a PlayStation port. It has been available on Xbox and other platforms, but a PS and Nintendo version was always missing.
Roblox Releasing on PlayStation and Meta Quest in October
At the 2023 Roblox Developers Conference, Roblox announced that the title is heading over to PlayStation and Meta Quest. Roblox first released on a platform other than PC in 2012 on IOS, and in 2014 for Andriod. The Xbox port came out in 2015 and can be played even now through backwards compatibility.
The reports about a PlayStation port had been circulating since 2022 and now it’s finally here. The company has claimed that the full catalog of Roblox experiences will be available on the PlayStation. The Verge also asked them about a Nintendo port to which they replied that they aren’t planning for it yet.
Roblox has a huge popularity and its concurrent player count is in the millions. So, a PlayStation port missing for years was weird. In addition, the Xbox version of the game will be getting updated with modern features as well. Moreover, the Quest version will be available later this month.
