The latest entry in the series, GTA V came out around a decade ago. It was about time we got a new entry. There were already rumors of GTA VI in development but nothing from the developer’s end. However, this year in February Rockstar finally confirmed they are working on the next iteration of the game.
While we don’t know anything officially, some leaks claimed to tell a little bit about what to expect from GTA VI. Apart from a couple of leaks, nothing was solid. Until yesterday, a user of GTA forms by the name teapotuberhacker linked 90+ gameplay videos that he claimed were GTA VI.
GTA VI Leaked Footage Has Been Taken off now
The gameplay looked like a really early build for the game as it wasn’t great graphically. However, that is to be expected from an early build. But it looked seriously legit. The buildings, physics, and even the rumored female protagonist all made it really hard to believe that it wasn’t the next GTA. While many came out and questioned the credibility of the leak, it was confirmed that the leaks are legit.
Bloomberg reporter, Jason Schreier, also verified the news. But now, even Rockstar Games itself has admitted that the leaked video was legit. Since then the leaked videos have been taken off the internet. The location of the leaker has also been reportedly compromised. Rockstar has also penned a note on Twitter confirming the leak.
Rockstar Claim Development won’t be affected by the Leak
Many were expecting Rockstar to halt the production and delay the development of the game. But Rockstar says nothing like this will happen and they will continue the development as planned.
They’ve stated:
'We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations.'
This is great news for everyone who was worried about the future of GTA VI. Thankfully the development will continue and we will have an update on the game soon.
Earlier leaks suggested that the game will feature two protagonists a male and a female based on Bonnie and Clyde. The game will reportedly take us back to multiple cities including Vice city, Los Santos, and others. Multiple player-based decisions within the game will affect the Grand Theft Auto 6’s ending. But remember that Rockstar has not released any information about the game’s location. You can find out more about the game here.
We hope we see something from Rockstar soon. Till then stay tuned for any further news regarding this situation.
