It seems that a reference to a Red Dead Redemption remaster has been found on Rockstar Games‘ website. As spotted by a known insider, Tez2, the new update for the official website has added ”Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Ver)” as well as a codename ”RDR1RSP”. The codename probably references the Single Player campaign being remade only. The Undead Nightmare DLC should also be included here as well. Tez2 has shared the logo for the remaster as well.
Red Dead Redemption Remaster Reference in Rockstar Website
Red Dead Redemption was previously rated in Korea so we could see an official announcement from Rockstar regarding it very soon. With Rockstar doing the development, it will surely look amazing. The original released back in 2010 still looks great, so we can only imagine what the remaster would look like. With the original being a console exclusive, PC players may also get a taste of this iconic game as well.
Fans have been waiting for a long time to play this critically acclaimed Western epic, and it looks like they won’t have to wait long. Though the sequel, released in 2018, scratched that itch, the impact of the original on the gaming community is massive.
The protagonist John Marston remains gaming’s most iconic character. To play as him once again in current-gen graphics would surely be a massive treat for fans. Players did get to play as Marston in the sequel though the story was much more focused on Arthur Morgan, who himself became a fan-favorite.
Red Dead Redemption Remaster Release Date
We may see a release of the Red Dead Redemption remaster in either 2024 or 2025. When the remaster does release, there’s a high probability that it will only be on current-gen consoles, i.e. the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with PC.
