Modern Warfare 2 was supposed to enter its new season really soon. However, rumors have emerged stating that Season 2 has now been delayed. The last major update for the title came back in December when Raid and a Chimera assault riffle were added to it. Since then there have been minor ones to tweak bugs but nothing major. And for those waiting for the Season 2 update, you might have to wait a little longer.
Modern Warfare Season 2 Delayed
Formerly, Season 2 was supposed to kick off on February 2, 2023, bringing some new content to the game. However, a data miner CODSploitzImgs suggests that the new season is likely delayed to February 15 or 16. The dates on the final bundle for Season 1 now state that it will be available from 2nd to 15th February implying the delay.
Interestingly, what makes the probable delay even more realistic is the past. Only last year, Season 2 of Vanguard and Warzone were delayed by exactly (You guessed it) two weeks, the same as now. The data miner also claims that the No Evil bundle will also probably skip Season 1 except for those who already got it from WZM.
The rumor is based on the game’s older experiences when the final store refresh dates always end before the start date of the next season. But it is entirely possible that the developers change the usual routine and the new season does drop on February 2nd. So, this for now is strictly a rumor.
What to Expect from Season 2?
Considering the Season 1 update was a rather meager one, fans are really looking forward to the new season. A leaked key art (Now DMCA’s) for Season 2 recently hinted at the return of World at War’s favored ‘Castle’ map. There is possibly a resurgence map coming to the game too. Moreover, Season 2 will bring new weapons, Operators, and a fresh battle pass to unlock.
But that’s about all we know for Modern Warfare Season 2 so far. Activision has been rather tight-lipped about revealing anything. But if the reports about the delay are true, we might get an official confirmation soon.
