Reports have emerged that Sony could be holding a State of Play event soon. The last State of Play took place in September 2022. So, as Xbox prepares to hold its own showcase event labeled ‘Developer_Direct‘, it seems PlayStation is gearing up for 2023 as well. The rumored showcase is also being reported for third-party titles only.
Is a State of Play Happening Soon?
Reliable leaker, The Snitch has once again broke the exclusive news on their Discord server, the leaker claimed a PlayStation State of Play event to announce third-party titles is happening soon. While the word isn’t official yet, considering Snitch’s reputation, it could turn out to be true.
The Snitch has stated that the event will be only for third-party titles. So, for those of you who were waiting for a word on Marvel’s Wolverine or Spider-man 2‘s gameplay, this will be a bit disappointing. However, there are plenty of exciting third-party titles coming up that could make the event a hit.
September’s State of Play brought us the first look at games from some Japanese studios. As for the upcoming rumored showcase we really hope to see more gameplay of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Resident Evil 4 Remake is another title that all of us are really hyped for. We might even see some brand-new title announcements pop up.
But all we can do at this point is speculate and that’s all. PlayStation hasn’t made anything official, and if the event is indeed happening, we don’t even have a confirmed date. With the event coinciding with the Xbox showcase, fans of either console have a lot to look forward to. Last year was a great year for gaming, as to what 2023 has in store for us, this is looking like a fine one too.
