The trend of PlayStation gradually porting its IPs to the PC side seems to be going on strong. With Uncharted: Lost Legacy on the way along with TLOU Remake Sony seems to be really investing in PC gaming. Another port that could be happening soon is PlayStation’s adorable platformer Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure to PC
Sumo Digital originally developed the game for PlayStation 4 and 5 in 2020. As opposed to the older Sackboy games, this takes a different approach and changes 2.5D to 3D for a more modern experience.
Since last year there have been rumors of Sackboy getting a PC port. We reported from a SteamDB listing that the game could likely be ported to PC soon. However, there was no announcement from Sumo Digital or PlayStation regarding the rumor.
Now, only today, the SteamDB page which was previously only rumored to be for Sackboy has been updated. If you hover your mouse cursor over the ‘client icon’ under ‘Additional Information, you can see a picture of Sackboy himself.
This finally confirms that Sackboy: A Big Adventure is coming to PC. Based on the SteamDB page, all the information is complete regarding the game including supported languages. Adding supported languages is generally the step that occurs when the development is completed. So, if we take an educational guess, the announcement could be close.
More about the Game
Sackboy: A big Adventure is a great platforming experience that follows the adorable Sackboy. Though the game is not a direct sequel to the older Sackboy: Little Big World games, it has its own spark that makes it really fun to play.
Yes, it isn’t like the other PlayStation games, it’s not God of War, Uncharted or Horizon Zero Dawn, but it’s an enjoyable experience in itself. Sackboy is one of those games where you just casually sit on your console (or PC in the future) and have a great time jumping platforms and avoiding obstacles.
Sackboy for PlayStation 5 also utilizes the full blast of Dual Sense features. Although that might not be supported on PC nonetheless when the game does get ported you are sure to enjoy it. It’s great especially for children, though it has other audiences too. At this moment we have neither an official announcement nor a solid release frame. But we hope that happens soon as the SteamDB listing hints that the game is almost complete.
