In the recently streamed Silent Hill Transmission, Konami has announced four Silent Hill games including Silent Hill: Townfall. The game will be developed by NoCode Studios, an award-winning studio based in Scotland, known for the games like Observation and Stories Untold. Annapurna Interactive will publish Silent Hill: Townfall as well.
The trailer portrayed a cryptic and unnerving atmosphere from the start. It shows quick flashes of images that include a room, a sort of monster, and a part of a town at night. Then, glimpses of a person show up and after that, followed by wind waves at the end. The voice acting implies that someone is being interviewed and will be punished. The whole atmosphere seems cryptic and unsettling that certainly goes with the overall feel of the Silent Hill series.
Silent Hill: Townfall Details
Currently, other than the trailer there isn’t any core detail of the game or its story. But, judging by the trailer and the voice acting it may very well be a linear third-person game or an interactive story game.
Towards the end of the trailer, NoCode creative director Jon Mckellan said, ” It’s a real honour for us to bring a new title to this series that both respects the source material but also does something a little bit different with it.”
In addition to that, he said while they can’t show any more until next year, fans should watch the trailer again. This might imply the game might be a mystery-based game set in Silent Hill. The psychological aspect is definitely felt throughout the game as is customary with the Silent Hill series. But, as this is just speculation, we will have to wait until next year to get more information. If more is revealed next year, we might also have an idea of the release date.
