Brand new information about Sonic Frontiers is set to be unveiled at Gamescom 2022 which is just a few hours away. However, we have a release date for the game ahead of the event thanks to a Japanese ad.
Earlier we reported that Sonic Frontiers will be released on 8 November 2022, according to data from SteamDB. That information has further been solidified thanks to the Japanese ad which displays the release date as 8 November.
Sonic Frontiers has been a constant source of news as its initial release date was changed. At first, it was supposed to launch on 1st September but like any other modern game it was delayed and it seems like the current release is slated for 8 November.
Sonic Frontiers will feature a fresh new take on Sonic as we will be introduced to a first-ever open-world game in the franchise. Though the scope of the game is larger than ever, that isn’t always the right thing to do. Admittedly, the initial gameplay trailer felt somewhat unpolished and doesn’t look like a modern-day game.
However, SEGA has stated that the game is indeed polished and asked people not to pass any judgments before actually playing the game. The game will make an appearance at Gamescom today.
We truly hope SEGA has finally implemented the highly anticipated gameplay enhancements, even though the previous teaser wasn’t exactly what we hoped. We can anticipate a lot of gameplay information from those who actually test the game because the Sonic booth at Gamecom is slated to stay for 5 days. Furthermore, Gamescom doesn’t have the same limitations as Summer Game Fest, so we can anticipate a lot of fresh information.
The game will launch on all major platforms including PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. We are expecting SEGA to make the game worth it and really make it a Sonic game we always wanted.
