Sonic Origins Plus will bring some of the most classic games on modern-day hardware. The collection will feature 12 Game Gear games. This collection will be an expansion of Sonic Origins launched last year and featured Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 (and Knuckles), and Sonic CD.
Sonic Origins Plus Features Multiple Classic Titles
Sega has revealed an announcement trailer for Sonic Origins Plus. It features 12 Sonic Game Gear titles, playable Knuckles in Sonic CD, and for the first time ever, Amy Rose as a playable character in Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD.
This pack also includes previously released add-on content: Extreme Missions, Mirror Mode, new character animations, and additional backgrounds and music. The premium physical edition will also include a 20-page artbook and a reversible coversheet that pays homage to the classic 1990s era of Sonic. You can watch the announcement trailer below:
The expansion will release on June 23, 2023, and cost $9.99 for the base game owners. Those who don’t have the base game can buy the entire package for $39.99. And as stated earlier there will be both Digital and Physical Copies available. Sonic Origins Plus is no doubt a great way to relive the titles we played as kids on current-gen hardware. The base game sent us down memory lane and the expansion would be even more nostalgic.
