GSC Game World just dropped a trailer for their upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game. Almost a decade later the series is finally getting another entry much to the fans’ excitement. While the sequel was initially announced back in 2010, it was later canceled only to be reannounced in 2018. Since then the game has faced a couple more delays but the progress seems to be going fine. GSC in today’s trailer for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has revealed more of the gameplay.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl ‘Come to Me’ Trailer
The new trailer gives us a deeper look into the upcoming title. Stalker 2 will take a different approach from its predecessors and opt for a completely open-world experience. While the previous games have had huge worlds, you could only access certain parts of the map during certain events in the game. This changes with Heart of Chornobyl. About the Game
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was supposed to release in April 2022, but it was delayed to December 2022 and eventually 2023. The delays have been quite understandable as GSC is a Ukrainian developer and the ongoing situation has only made things more difficult for them. Moreover, Stalker 2 was built in Unreal Engine 4, but it has now been moved to Unreal Engine 5. The visuals that come with UE5 are no doubt next-gen plus we have seen games in UE4 causing a lot of issues this year.
Take over the role of the lone stalker and explore a photorealistic seamless open world in a 64-km² radioactive zone with a variety of environments that reveal a post-apocalyptic atmosphere from different angles. Make your way through the Zone to define your destiny as you choose your paths within a highly branching epic story.

It can currently be pre-ordered and will be available on PC and be a ‘console exclusive’ for Xbox Series X|S. It will also be a day 1 launch title on Game Pass.
