Ubisoft recently revealed its upcoming Star Wars game titled Star Wars: Outlaws during the Xbox Games Showcase recently. It is the first-ever Star Wars open-world game, developed by Ubisoft Massive in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Massive is a prominent Ubisoft studio situated in Sweden. The studio had previously worked on renowned games such as The Division and its sequel. The game will utilize the Snowdrop Engine that has powered The Division games.
This open-world Star Wars game was officially unveiled in January 2021 although not much was revealed of it. A World Premiere Trailer was revealed that showed the characters of the game, including the female protagonist.
In Star Wars Outlaws, players take on the role of ruthless thief Kay Vess played by Humberly González, who, with the help of her trusty sidekick Nix played by Dee Bradley Baker, must carry off one of the biggest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen.
Explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. Risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.
The events of Star Wars Outlaws take place in the time period between Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. During this time, the criminal underworld is thriving as the Galactic Empire is relentlessly pursuing the final victory against the Rebel Alliance. Kay will be working for various criminal syndicates across the galaxy on dangerous but potentially lucrative missions while she tries to create a new life for herself.
A proper look at the game will be shown during the Ubisoft Forward scheduled for Monday, June 12.
