If there’s one superhero whose game was desperately needed, it was none other than the Man of Steel. Warner Bros. CEO in a recent Inverstor’s call might have teased that a Superman game could be coming. Superman is one of those heroes who has been explored very less in video games. Mainly being a part of the Injustice games, (also teased as a villain in the upcoming Suicide Squad Game) he is yet to receive a proper solo game after the abysmal 2006, Superman Returns.
Warner Bros. Might be Working on a Superman Game
With the DC Extended Universe getting a reboot, Warner Bros. could be working on a brand new Superman IP as well. As reported by TweakTown, Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav stated in their recent investor call that how video games are becoming a powerful face of the company. Furthermore, some of his comments also pointed toward a Superman game. He said:
When we launch a product on Max or HBO, and when we have a game, that game belongs to us, but now there’s this in-betweener. It may be in the next couple of years that we launch a Superman movie and…people spend more time and there’s more economics of people just hanging out in the Superman world and universe.
While not very elaborate, the words ‘Hanging out in the Superman world and universe’ give a subtle nod toward the game. We know we are getting a new movie in the next 2 years, and having a game to show that would be the cherry on top. Zaslav also talked about the 1$ billion revenue that Hogwarts Legacy has generated and they are proud of how gamers get immersed when they play the title.
