It seems that two Prince of Persia games has made an appearance on the Playstation 5 store recently. The two titles are Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and The Two Thrones HD. These two were some of the Playstation 3 games that have recently popped up in the PS5 store. These POP games were first discovered by Youtuber GameRiotArmy where he attached screenshots of the games along with their price in the store.
What This Could Mean
In simple terms, this might mean nothing at all. Ryan Biniecki, who consistently uploads Youtube videos regarding all things Playstation, tweeted that this is a visual bug. He has also said that the PoP games used to be on PS Now so they are nothing new to the service. In another tweet, he said that the timing might have something to do with the rumored Project Spartacus.
Project Spartacus
Project Spartacus is said to be a rival to Xbox Game Pass. This service will merge both Playstation Plus and Now and give players a much more fulfilling catalog of amazing games. This service was first reported by Bloomberg in December. According to the report, there are three tiers in the service. Adding to that, the third tier outlines that there would be a collection of PS1, PS2, PS3 games for players to enjoy. The two Prince of Persia games along with a few other PS3 titles might be a part of this new service. If this turns out to be true it would be great news for PoP fans.
So far we don’t have any more details regarding Project Spartacus or whether the appearance of these Prince of Persia games is just a visual bug. But as mentioned by Biniecki, the timing does seem a bit suspicious. Perhaps the rumored Project Spartacus is closer to launch than we thought. But at this point, we can only speculate.
What do you think of this news? Do you think these games will be playable on PS5 or is it just a bug? Also, what do you think of Playstation’s Project Spartacus? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
