In a recent report by Bloomberg, Ubisoft is going to turn an expansion of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla into a fully-fledged game. The main reason why they are doing this is to fill out their thin release schedule. This information comes from people who are familiar with the project as mentioned in the report.

New Assassin’s Creed Game: What We Know

Here’s what we know regarding the new Assassin’s Creed game:

  • ‘Rift’ was the original name of the Assasin’s Creed Valhalla expansion. Later on in 2021, the company decided to not release the game as an expansion.
  • Basim, a pivotal character in Valhalla will be featured in the game and likely the main playable character. The new game will likely be similar in terms of length to Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry which was originally an expansion for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.
  • Adding to that, the game won’t feature an open world like Valhalla but instead, focus on stealth gameplay.
  • It is due for release this year or in 2023. This is likely to come before Assassin’s Creed Infinity, a live service project that will feature multiple storylines and historical locations.

This new game in the AC series is definitely something to look forward to. For all we know, we could get some features that will be included in Assassin’s Creed Infinity. In addition to that, maybe Ubisoft is also planning to test some features from Infinity in the new game.

Ubisoft has slowed down releasing new Assassin’s Creed games yearly so they probably hope this one will be something the players and fans enjoy. While Odyssey and Valhalla lacked certain pivotal features of the original AC games. We might have these features back in the new game and in Infinity.
