If you were wondering about a possible expansion for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, that won’t be the case for now. Ubisoft in a Reddit AMA has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed DLC isn’t currently being planned. It means that Ubisoft’s return to roots with the AC franchise won’t have any additional story content at launch or at least for some time.
Assassin’s Creed DLC is Currently Not Being Planned
Mirage’s creative director Stéphane Boudon at the Reddit AMA stated:
For now, Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch
Therefore it seems that Assassin’s Creed Mirage isn’t a title Ubisoft is looking to keep supporting for a very long time. While it does take the franchise back to its roots, that doesn’t seem to be the main direction Ubisoft is heading in for its long-term approach.
Also, Ubisoft has a bunch of other Assassin’s Creed in development as well. Codename Red seems to be the major AC game that will define the franchise’s future. Based on feudal Japan Ubisoft described the title as the future of their open-world RPGs.
Nonetheless, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going to be a love letter for the fans of the older AC games. While no DLC might be planned right now, the studio might change its plans in the future as Boudon did use the phrase ‘for now’.
