After a lot of leaks and rumors, Ubisoft has officially announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next game in the popular series. Their official Twitter account made the announcement. Along with the tweet also came an official concept image. More details about Mirage will be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward on September 10.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Back to Basics
There have been a lot of rumors of what Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going to be about. A couple of days ago, crucial information about the new Assassin’s Creed game was potentially leaked. The title was also said to be Mirage then as well. The game is set in Baghdad during the late 9th century and will feature Basim as the main character. Basim initially appeared as a character in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The game will also go ‘back to basics’ according to multiple reports taking inspiration from the first Assassin’s Creed. For example, it would not feature prominent RPG mechanics like dialogue choices and leveling system. In addition to that, the Eagle Vision is back after a long time as it made its last appearance in Syndicate. The drone bird will remain alongside the Eagle Vision. There will also be multiple cities to explore as it has become standard with the newer Assassin’s Creed games. We can expect more details about the game to be revealed soon at the Ubisoft Forward.
Alongside the details of Mirage, a DLC for the game was also spotted recently in the Ubisoft Store. The DLC is titled The Forty Thieves, which could be a subtle reference to Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, a popular tale from One Thousand and One Nights.
