Things aren’t looking good for the first E3 happening physically in 4 years. Previously a report suggested that Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft are all set to miss the major event. If this wasn’t bad enough, Ubisoft has confirmed that they won’t be a part of the event either. The news comes after Ubisoft became the first major company to state that they’ll be at the event.
Ubisoft Pull Back from E3 2023 In Favour Of Their Own Showcase
Ubisoft joins the big three in skipping this year’s E3 making things worse for the renowned event. Talking to VGC, the company confirmed that they’ve decided to skip the event after previously committing to it. In terms, they’ll be hosting their own showcase called Ubisoft Forward on June 12 in LA.
According to the interview:
While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon
E3 is now around 3 months away and with Ubisoft skipping it too, we can’t name any major company that is attending the event. It feels like the event once deemed the flagship of the year is now slowly dying out.
Ubisoft of course has a ton of content for their showcase. They have a number of Assassin’s Creed titles and the upcoming Avatar game to showcase. We are expecting to finally see the gameplay for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
With this new development, are you guys still looking forward to E3 2023? Let us know in the comments down below.
