At the start of August, Laura Kate Dale, an author, and accessibility consultant, revealed that a Vampire Survivors Director Cut exists. It was allegedly drastically different from the original game. It was also claimed the additions were quite considerable from the released DLCs and she might be the only one who’s seen them outside the dev team.
Vampire Survivors Directors Cut Will Add a lot of New Content
While it might not necessarily be called the Director’s Cut, all the extra content from the cut will be coming to the main game. When asked about the existence of the version, developer Poncle stated (Via VGC):
That’s something we’ve been doing in most events (since TGS 2022) – hiding some of the future content for the game in plain sight, but this time it blew up online. While the actual menu screen might never appear in the game, all the new content shown in that version is scheduled to be fully developed and released in future free updates.
Furthermore, the DIrector is a hidden final boss appearing in Vampire Survivors, indicating the cut could be a reference to that. The update proves that we are indeed getting all the extra content, however just not in the same way as it was leaked.
Vampire Survivors launched in 2022 with great reviews from critics and audiences alike. Currently sitting on overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, there’s no doubt gamers will be hyped for the new content.
