We finally get a proper look at the gameplay of the upcoming AAA game Wild Hearts. Electronic Arts (EA) and Koei Tecmo recently published a 7-minute trailer showcasing the world, combat, enemies, and the co-op mode as well as various gameplay mechanics.
Wild Hearts was officially announced in September by EA and Koei Tecmo. The development of the game will be done by Studio Omega Force, one of the divisions of Koei Tecmo. In addition to that, Studio Omega Force is perhaps more renowned for the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series.
Wild Hearts Gameplay Details
The trailer showcases the world of Wild Hearts and sees a hunter battling huge beasts solo and with other hunters. The co-op aspect is properly shown here as well. In addition to that, the colorful world of the game is explored here with various mechanisms known as ”Karakuri”. With this, the hunter creates things like a zipline, steps and fans for traversal as well as combat.
Wild Hearts: What Is It?
Wild Hearts is set in a fantasy version of feudal Japan and has players hunting various kinds of beasts. The game is set in the historical land of Azuma through which players will journey alone or with two other players. Moreover, they will hunt these beasts known as the ”Kemono” who were once peaceful but now are causing rampage.
According to EA the Kemono have ”undergone a unique evolution by fusing with their environments” and ”wield the power of nature to reshape their surroundings to suit their needs.” For this players need to hunt them down using various weapons and equipment. In addition to that, players will also have the ”karakuri” which is used for making various mechanisms in traversal and combat. Moreover, the karakuri can be used to craft these mechanisms and give an edge in tough situations.
Wild Hearts is set for release on Febraury 17, 2023 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC with full crossplay support.
