Xbox PC App Partnership with HowLongToBeat

This is a really interesting feature that no one really asked for but if your think about it can be really useful. Xbox has partnered with HowLongToBeat to help people know about the estimated time it’ll take to end the game.

You will be able to see the estimated time to complete the game in the Game Pass app for most games. HowLongToBeat is a community-driven website that specializes in game lengths.

This is really helpful as now you can monitor what to play depending on the time you got. Say, you got a couple of free days, you can play that game that has a campaign this long. In addition, you can even monitor the length of the main story along with side missions too. There will be four different categories that have been revealed by Xbox:

  • Main Story (Required): You complete the main objectives, just enough to see the credits roll
  • Main Story and Additional Quests/Medals/Unlockables: You take your time, discover and complete additional tasks not required
  • Completionist (100%): You strive for every achievement, every medal and conquer all that the game has to offer
  • Combined: All play styles considered during estimation

There will also be an option to record your own times to help your fellow gamers. You can also learn about other players’ play styles from community evaluations, gameplay notes, and data breakdowns by platform and playstyle. You can learn more here. The feature will be free for Xbox Game Pass holders and can be bought separately as well.

More New Features from the Update

The performance of the app has been made better in this month’s update to make it more stable. Xbox claims that the update has improved the app’s launch time by 15% along with better responsiveness. Also, the app is 99.99% times crash-free now, and players’ complaints of games not installing have been fixed.
