Whether you’re a Platinum trophy hunter or simply looking for some powerful weapons, you’ll want to know about all the Legendary Armaments in Elden Ring. This is a line of visually appealing weapons with unique gimmicks, several of which are game-breaking, while others… less so.
While each entails going the extra mile to acquire, we assure you it will be well worth the effort. The legendary weapons in Elden Ring are spread across various weapon types, and you’re sure to find at least one that fits your build. So, from the bone-chilling Dark Moon Greatsword to the eerie-looking Eclipse Shotel, we’ll walk you through each Legendary Armaments you’ll come across in Elden Ring.
Dark Moon Greatsword
- Weapon Type: Greatsword
- Requirements: Str 16, Dex 11, Int 38
- Weapon Skill: Moonlight Greatsword
- Location: Below the Cathedral of Manus Celes after giving Ranni the Dark Moon Ring
The Dark Moon Greatsword is a staple in many FromSoftware games, and longtime fans of the classic weapon won’t be surprised to find it at the very top. Join Lunar Witch Ranni in holy matrimony near the end of her side quest to claim the legendary Greatsword for yourself. The weapon is in an absolute state for every spellblade user after having seen 3 massive buffs.
The unique weapon skill, Moonlight Greatsword, is one of the strongest in the game. The blade shrouds in an icy mist, granting a magic buff and a frost debuff. That’s not all, though, as the buff also paves way for charged attacks that launches arcs of frosty magic, dealing massive damage. Couple this with the Godfrey Icon, and you’ll be nigh-unstoppable!
Ruins Greatsword
- Weapon Type: Colossal Sword
- Requirements: Str 50, Int 16
- Weapon Skill: Wave of Destruction
- Location: By beating the duo boss inside the Redmane Castle Plaza before the Radahn Festival or after it by slaying Radahn
While looking more like a slab of concrete, the Ruins Greatsword really holds to the elusive title. You can get this Colossal Sword in the Redmane Castle Plaza before triggering the Radhan Festival. Harboring the destructive power of the meteorite that struck it, this weapon has some steep requirements.
It scales primarily with Strength, ending up with an S in the stat and a little from the Int stat, that’s needed to access the weapon skill. While it’s a fantastic skill for PVP, so long as you meet the Strength requirement, each swing of the slab will deal more than crazy amounts of damage. So, even the most hardened Strength users can wield the Ruins Greatsword.
Bolt of Gransax
- Weapon Type: Spear
- Requirements: Str 20, Dex 40
- Weapon Skill: Ancient Lightning Spear
- Location: Lies on the solidified bolt of lightning in Lyndell, Royal Capital
Players can pick up any sort of Spear in Elden Ring, but the Bolt of Gransax is simply a cut above the rest. This weapon is, however, very easy to miss. Once the landscape of Lyndell changes to the Ashen Capital, the legendary Spear vanishes for eternity. So, ensure snagging it before taking down Black Blade Maliketh.
Dedicated Dex users will carry it as one of the best Spears in Elden Ring. It’s an incredibly powerful weapon that can cater to players that love a mix of both offensive and defensive playstyles. In addition, the Ancient Lightning Spear skill allows you to tap into the electrifying powers of the Ancient Dragons to snipe enemies at great lengths.
Sword of Night and Flame
- Weapon Type: Straight Sword
- Requirements: Str 12, Dex 12, Int 24, Fai 24
- Weapon Skill: Night and Flame Stance
- Location: Sits inside a chest that can be accessed by navigating the ramparts in the Caria Manor
The Sword of Night and Flame may not be the menace it once was, thanks to the many nerfs the Legendary Armament has seen, but it is still a solid weapon. You’ll get it from a chest found in the Caria Manor. The Straight Sword may ask for some loyalty from its users due to the many stats spread across it, but the payoff is well worth it.
The real highlight of the Sword of Night and Flame is the weapon skill: Night and Flame Stance. As the skill implies, you take up a stance to create a blazing fan or a beam of magic akin to Come Azure. Both are equally strong skills and come in handy in various situations that call for it.
Marais Executioner’s Sword
- Weapon Type: Greatsword
- Requirements: Str 24, Dex 14, Arc 23
- Weapon Skill: Eochaid’s Dancing Blade
- Location: Beat Elemer of Briar in the Shaded Castle
The only weapon with the Arcane scaling on the list, the Marais Executioner’s Sword is capable of tremendous damage. It’s only fair that you’d need to beat a tough boss to acquire it, which entails slaying Elemer in the Shaded Castle at the Altus Plateau.
Marais Executioner’s Sword fame lies in its Ash of War, a corkscrew attack that can destroy any enemy within seconds. The best part about the weapon is that it makes excellent use of Talismans that revolves around the weapon’s skill, like Shad of Alexander and Millicent’s Prosthesis. It can one-shot almost anyone, given you meet the high stat requirements.
Golden Order Greatsword
- Weapon Type: Greatsword
- Requirements: Str 16, Dex 21, Fai 28
- Weapon Skill: Establish Order
- Location: Beat the Misbegotten Crusader at the end of the Cave of Forlorn in the Consecrated Snowfield
Elden Ring’s Golden Order Greatsword has the most striking design of any legendary weapon in the game. The weapon is an antithesis to the Dark Moon Greatsword, as both symbolize their respective orders. You can get the gleaming blade of light by beating the Misbegotten Crusader in the Consecrated Snowfield.
The Golden Order has much to do with Faith, so the Golden Order Greatsword deals Holy Damage. You’ll need to crank up that stat to properly wield it and make the most of its Ash of War. The skill creates a blinding explosion damaging anything inside and then sends a wave of holy energy. It’s pretty useful against players in PVP for roll-catching.
Grafted Blade Greatsword
- Weapon Type: Colossal Sword
- Requirements: Str 40, Dex 14
- Weapon Skill: Oath of Vengeance
- Location: Slay the Leonine Misbegotten in Castle Morne
The earliest Legendary Armament players will likely get their hands on is the Grafted Blade Greatsword. To get the Colossal Sword, head to the end of Castle Morne and beat the Leonine Misbegotten. Luckily, you can make light work of the foe by summoning Edgar.
Essentially, it’s an ugly pile of more miniature rusty swords resembling the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones. While the game has much better Strength Weapons, the Grafted Blade Greatsword has been through some much-needed buffs. It’s now a worthy pick despite the unwieldy stats. The Oath of Vengeance skill is particularly useful if you need a quick boost to all your attributes.
Devourer’s Scepter
- Weapon Type: Great Hammer
- Requirements: Str 24, Dex 20, Arc 25
- Weapon Skill: Devourer of Worlds
- Location: Either kill Bernhal near the Warmaster Shack or complete the Volcano Manor side quest
Recommended by 9/10 of the victims – with the other guy only being the sane one – straight from the bowels of the Great Serpent, the Devourer’s Scepter is a hit or miss in Elden Ring. You can get the giant hammer by completing the Volcano Manor side quest or by killing Bernhal. Nothing sticks out for the weapon aside from its Ash of War.
The overall Fire and Physical split damage it deals is pretty lackluster for such a massive weapon and has players heavily relying on its Faith scaling. Players running a hybrid Strength/ Faith pyromancy build might get something out of it. Plus, the Devourer of Worlds is still a good all-purpose crowd control skill against groups of enemies, thanks to the excellent leech effect.
Eclipse Shotel
- Weapon Type: Curved Sword
- Requirements: Str 10, Dex 25, Fai 30
- Weapon Skill: Death Flare
- Location: Lies on a altar of the church found inside Castle Sol in the Consecrated Snowfield
The Eclipse Shotel is a decent weapon but not up to scratch as the other stellar Curved Swords in Elden Ring. The Curved Sword is exclusively functional in PVP against fellow Tarnished players as it causes Death Blight to build on hit. While it’s a guaranteed win when it procs, unfortunately, it happens once in a blue moon.
Plus, it also ignores damage negation from blocks like a standard Shotel, which is always a welcomed addition in PVP. That said, the gimmicky effect that’s only possessed by the weapon and the unique design akin to a Solar eclipse has deemed it a Legendary Armament. You’d also expect to get it from Castle Sol in the Mountain Tops of the Giants.
