With each game pack costing around $20, it’s not worth downloading the entire collection. Instead, picking which packs suit your Sims story best is the way to go. If buying Sims 4 packs are out of your budget, you can always try out these Sims 4 mods.

Unless you’re a collector of packs, skipping a few lower-ranked game packs won’t significantly affect your game.

While your child-Sim is at school, you may receive pop-ups asking your Sim to choose an action. Naturally, these choices will impact your Sims personality too.

Lastly, the game pack includes new activities you can participate in as a family. From cooking together to completing school projects, the entire family can chip in to get things done.

The game pack offers tons of new gameplay. From enchanting others Sims to transforming into a dark form, your new vampire Sims are well-equipped to wreak havoc. Climb the vampire rankings to unlock new powers ( and weaknesses) to become the most powerful vampire.

With new eyes, facial features, aspirations, and clothing, how could we not mention the CAS portion of the pack? Not to mention that your vampire Sim can switch to a dark form when enraged or terrorizing neighbors. The new build and buy content is perfect, bringing a gothic aesthetic that the base game lacked.

Lastly, there is a new world to play in, Forgotten Hollow, but don’t expect too much. With few lots available and average-looking pre-made housing, the world is underwhelming, with only one gem of a mansion to play in.

Dream Home Decorator

With the Dream Home Decorator Game Pack, you can unleash your inner interior decorator and bring your client’s dreams to life. Build a reputation and piece together a stunning portfolio clients can’t say no to.

First, accept a job and speak to your clients. They share their visions with you through thought bubbles. It’s then up to you to incorporate color schemes and furniture while staying within their budget.

Once you’re done with the makeover, renovation, or remodel, snap some pictures for the big reveal. You can also keep these pictures for before and after comparisons.

Lastly, unveil your design to the clients, hoping they like what you’ve designed!

The only downside to this Game Pack is that it’s difficult to understand what your client wants. For example, we wondered whether the client wanted their bedroom redone or the entire top floor. Luckily, the client was still happy with what we did, and we started to build our reputation.

We have to say that this pack has some of the best furniture and decor that we’ve seen in the Sims 4. We use them in almost every build and find them vital to creating modern, clean spaces. The pack is almost worth the cost for its build/buy alone.

Jungle Adventure

Release date: February 27, 2018

Indiana Jones in the Sims? Well… kind of. With the Sims 4 Jungle Adventure, you can venture to a new world called Selvadorada. Eat new foods, immerse yourself in new cultures and explore hidden temples within the dense jungle.

But we know all the perils of raiding tombs and ancient ruins, so watch out for poisonous spiders and deadly bees. There are also obstacles that your Sim will need to make their way through to unearth the hidden treasures.

Return to your base and use the archaeology table to examine these mysterious relics, uncover their value and route out the fakes from the priceless artifacts.

Similar to the Sims 3 World Adventures, this game pack adds a new sense of adventure to the game that you won’t want to miss out on. Not to mention the activities and customs of Selvadorada that draws inspiration from different South American cultures.

Realm of Magic

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic Game Pack brings back magic to the game we know and love. From witches in the Sims 2 Apartment Living and the Sims 3 Supernatural, this game pack brings back the occult we’ve grown to love. Spellcasters are the game’s new magic wielders that can help their neighborhoods or send them into chaos.

Your Sim can travel to the magic realm through a portal located in the new mystical world, Glimmerbrook. Once in the new dimension that seems to be ripping apart, simply locate one of the Sages and ask to become a Spellcaster. The game has three sages, each residing over a different path of magic. These are Mischief magic, Untamed Magic, and Practical Magic.

By experimenting with potions and practicing magic, your Sim can start to level up their magical authority. Moving through the ranks to adept and master Spellcaster, your Sim will unlock new spells and perks and are more likely to win duels.

The game adds many spells and potions that are helpful, handy, or downright evil. In addition, you can purchase a wand, broomstick, or even a familiar. This game pack is hands down one of the packs we use the most, almost in every game. However, be careful; with the ability to channel magic comes a new death type: Spellcaster Overload.

Outdoor Retreat

Release date: February 17, 2015

If you love camping, why not live vicariously through your Sims in the Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat Game Pack? Explore Granite Falls, venture into the deep woods, find the infamous hermit, collect herbs or go fishing. Outdoor Retreat offers many new activities and unique species of fish, insects, and herbs.

If you’re a collector, purchasing this Game Pack is worth it. However, if the great outdoors isn’t your cup of tea, you might want to think twice.

While sitting around a campfire, hiking, stargazing, and playing horseshoes is fun, the Game Pack isn’t as fun if you don’t go on vacation to Granite Falls.

As for the Build/Buy mode and CAS, there are a few fun items to try out, such as tents and cool outfits that suit the outdoors perfectly.

Werewolves

Right off the bat, the Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack ties in three supernatural occults – Vampires, Spellcasters, and Werewolves. Whether you’re a fan of gameplay or lore, this game pack has it all. Read new books to discover lycanthrope lore, history, and how this game pack fits into the already-established occult worlds.

That said, werewolves in the Sims bring new gameplay and adventures that are distinct, original, and maybe a little bit animalistic. First, choose how your werewolf Sim looks, temperaments, and abilities. Then, you play with lycanthrope life as you mold your Sim into an Alpha or Lone Wolf.

Do you Sims accept their werewolf identity and lean into their primal nature? Or do they reject it, trying to fit into normal society while trying to find a cure? Whatever your story, exploring the new world of Moonwood Mills will unlock experiences such as howling at the moon and finding your mate and possibly a new family – your werewolf pack.

If the military isn’t for you, you can consider many careers while living in StrangerVille – secrets and mysteries aren’t for everyone. Instead, explore the desert town, discover dangerous plants, expand your collectible collection and meet your new weird but friendly neighbors.

As for the build/buy, there are new science fiction-themed items and furniture to decorate your homes or secret basements. As for the CAS, there are new suits, such as military uniforms and hazmat suits. Additionally, you’ll find a few western-themed outfits worth buying.

Find your inner peace as your Sim visits the Spa and focuses on their inner wellness. After all, whether your Sim is a couch potato or an Athlete, back massages, manures, and meditation always help with mental fitness.

The game pack adds a new venue, which you can place while editing your worlds. The Spa is packed with stunning items centered around zen and relaxation. From incense burners to yoga mats, the build/buy section is perfect for those wanting to build their own wellness center or turn their spare room into a private spa.

You can expect everything from sports watches to yoga pants in this game packs CAS. New hairstyles are added as well as various different types of fitness gear. The facemasks and manicures will leave your Sim wanting a whole new look.

Dine Out

Dress your Sim for the perfect dining experience in The Sims 4 Dine Out game pack. Sure, cooking at home saves money, but sometimes your Sim simply doesn’t have the cooking skills necessary to come anywhere near the restaurant experience – I, for one, know that I’m getting tired of the toasted cheese diet.

If you’re more of an entrepreneur, perhaps consider opening your own restaurant, providing Sims with the finest cuisine. Serve snobbish Sims and food critics, each happy Patreon leading to a higher star rating. Experiment and experience new food the game pack brings to the menu.

Build stunning restaurants from scratch, set uniforms, and create your menu. Alternatively, select one of the existing restaurants and start your culinary adventure.

Journey to Batuu

Release date: September 8, 2020

From Star Wars outfits to making new droid buddies, Journey to Batuu game pack brings the outer-world experience of Star Wars to the Sims 4. Create your own story, visit venues and bring back Star Wars decor from the galaxy’s edge to your home on Earth.

Explore Batuu to collect Kyber Crystals and craft your unique lightsaber, or head to the droid depot to find a new companion to join you on your missions. Choose your path, complete missions, earn rewards and earn reputation points. As you climb the ladder, you will surely meet iconic characters like Vi Moradi and Rey.

Unfortunately, for many Simmers, this game pack falls flat. That’s why it’s ranked 11th on our list. We would have loved to see more interactions and deeper gameplay. Unless you’re on Batuu, your Sim doesn’t experience much Star Wars gameplay. It doesn’t really affect their daily lives once you’ve completed the missions. It’s more of a once-off game pack than anything else.

My Wedding Stories

Release date: February 23, 2022
Key Features:

The 12th and final game pack is the Sims 4 My Wedding Stories. The pack includes new experiences like choosing a sim of honor, hosting engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners. Every little detail counts as you customize your wedding, from outfits to flowers to menus.

During the after-party, your Sims get to cut the cake and enjoy the night by dancing with guests and enjoying the company of your new spouse.

Where this pack falls short is that the weddings in-game cover most of the basics needed. As a result, the whole pack seems like it’s an addition that’s unneeded. That said, the pack also had so much potential to highlight wedding experiences and give Simmers more reasons to host a wedding instead of simply eloping. Unfortunately, EA seems to miss the mark at every opportunity.

Unless you’re dedicated to collecting all the game packs, you’re not missing out if you give this one a skip.

Something we didn’t cover in that article is how to download and install Sims 4 game packs using Steam on a PC. Of course, if you know which pack you’re looking for, search for the pack in the search bar. These steps are more for those looking to browse the entire collection of game packs.

The first step is to open Steam and sign into your account. Next, head over to the Store tab and search for Sims 4. Then, scroll down to the “content for this game” section and click “browse all.”

Next, navigate to the “Game Packs” section, highlighting some packs. To find the pack you’re looking for, click on the “view full list button.”

Select the pack you want to purchase and add the pack to your cart. Then, follow the prompts and complete your purchase. Then, once the pack has been downloaded, you’re ready to play!

Final Thoughts
