There are various churches found across the map of Elden Ring. One such church is the Rose Church which can be found pretty early on in the game. This location is quite significant if you want to continue the quest of an important NPC. That is why this Elden Ring Rose Church location guide will show you how to reach this area.
While most players will naturally stumble across this location while playing the game, I’ve seen some players miss it completely. If you are a new player or somehow missed this area, check out how you can reach it and what to do here. With that said, let’s jump straight in and get started.
Elden Ring: How to Find the Rose Church
The Rose Church can be found south of the Raya Lucaria Acadamy. If you plan to continue the questline for White-Faced Varre, you will need to go to this location. If you want to talk to White-Faced Varre and continue his side quest, you will have to find this location before entering the Acadamy.
While you can visit this place after clearing the Acadamy, it’s better if you do it before defeating Rennala.
Before entering the church, you will spot a familiar NPC. Yes, White-Faced Varre can be found outside the entrance of the church. You first interact with him at the first Site of Grace as soon as you start Elden Ring. After defeating Godrick and visiting the Two Fingers at the Roundtable Hold, you can find Varre here.
Talk to him and listen to what he has to say. He will ask you how the Great Runes feel and what you think of the Two Fingers.
If you choose the option where you doubt the Two Fingers or have suspicions over the Great Runes, Varre will complement your intuition. He will provide you with the Festering Bloody Finger that will allow you to invade other players’ worlds and engage in PvP.
Plus, you will be able to continue Varre’s quest as well, so, make sure that you talk to him here if you want to proceed.
As of patch 1.06, you do not have to invade other players’ worlds three times to continue this quest. If you don’t want to play PvP, you can progress to the Writheblood Ruins in the Altus Plateau. From here, interact with a new invasion sign of the NPC Magnus the Beast Claw to continue the quest.

Once you enter the church, you can loot the Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook [12] from the corpse. Plus, you can even harvest Bloodrose from the bushes in this area as well. However, a strong enemy will spawn inside this area so watch out for him. Defeating him isn’t a big problem but he can deal tons of damage if you are not careful.
