After entering the Liurnia of the Lakes region, you need to head to the left cliffside. Make sure that you are riding Torrent since this is a massive area and can take quite a while to traverse on foot. As you can see in the image above, you need to head southwest from the Laskyar Ruins until you see a small cave – this is the Lakeside Crystal Cave.
This area is a bit dark, especially at night. So, make sure that you either travel here during the day or carry a torch with you. Once you spot the entrance, head inside. Keep in mind that Torrent cannot enter the cave, so, you’ll have to go on foot.
This cave is like many other caves in Elden Ring. You need to progress through it and defeat all the enemies to reach the boss room. Once you do that, you will encounter the Bloodhound Knight boss. The good news is that this enemy isn’t that tough so you shouldn’t have any issues.
After defeating him, head out of the cave using the only exit in front of you. Now, you’ll enter the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack and spot a sickly wolf alongside an NPC called Latenna.
There is a Site of Grace here as well so make sure that you activate it if you want to fast travel here or level up your character. Plus, you can talk to Latenna the Albinauric to start the side quest where you have to collect both halves of the Haligtree Medallion.
Upon completing the quest, you can get a Spirit Ashes summon to call Latenna in combat to help you as well. So, make sure that you complete her quest to have an easier time in future fights. Plus, finding the medallion will help you access the Grand Lift of Rold, granting access to a hidden path to the Consecrated Snowfield.
