There are many hidden bosses in Elden Ring and the Glintstone Dragon Adula is one of them. Despite not being a secret boss, many players can miss this dragon fight since he requires a few prerequisites. That is why we will show you the Elden Ring Glintstone Dragon Adula boss guide so that you can defeat him.
This boss fight is like most dragon fights in Elden Ring but with a few twists. If you are having issues with this foe or want to find him, we will help you out. With that said, let’s dive right in and check out how you can find this dragon and how to defeat it.
Elden Ring: How to Beat Glintstone Dragon Adula
Glintstone Dragon Adula is a magical dragon that deals tons of damage and can mess up your day. Even if you are prepared for him by fighting other dragons, he will use a few new attacks that can throw you off guard. However, worry not because we will show you a solid strategy to defeat him.
Before we talk about that, there are technically two phases to the fight. You will fight him the first time early in the game but he will fly away. After that, you will have to progress through certain quests and the game to unlock a new area where this dragon is residing.
Also, he is an optional boss that isn’t necessary for completing the game. However, if you want to complete Ranni’s quest, fighting him is required and you will get tons of amazing rewards as well.
Where to Find It?
Finding this dragon is extremely easy. You must first progress through Limgrave and head to the Liurnia of the Lakes. Once you enter that area, go to the Three Sisters located in the northwest. You do not have to clear the Raya Lucaria Academy to enter this area.
However, you will have to go through Caria Manor and defeat Royal Knight Loretta to unlock this area. After unlocking the location, you need to head to Ranni’s Rise which is marked in the image above. You will encounter this dragon here.
After you deal a bit of damage to it, he will fly away. To finish the fight with this mighty dragon, you need to head over to the Moonlight Altar in the Cathedral of Manus Celes. Keep in mind that the Moonlight Altar is only unlocked after progressing through Ranni’s quest line.
If you are curious, you can enter this area after defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. Once you unlock this location, go northeast from the Moonlight Altar site of grace.
Tips to Beat the Glintstone Dragon Adula
Initially, this fight might seem quite difficult for newer players. However, if you have faced dragons before in Elden Ring – and you might have because the game has tons of dragons – you will know that this boss fight is similar to that. He does all the classic dragon attacks like a bite, stomp, tail sweep, and more.
The best method to attack the Glintstone Dragon Adula – and all dragons for that matter – is to stay near its hind legs and whack at them. Do not stand directly behind the dragon or he will spam his tail sweep attack. If he stomps or swipes his tail, you can easily dodge that by rolling or jumping.
Plus, if you stay on Torrent, you will have a great time as your mobility will increase significantly. From time to time, Adula will use his Magic Breath attack that deals tons of damage. However, as soon as you see him charging it up, use Torrent to ride behind him and stay there. Make sure that you are behind his wings and hind legs or you will get hit.
Apart from this, the only other attacks you should watch out for are his spells that track you and his Moonblade attack. The spells can be avoided by dashing away from him in a zig-zag pattern. However, the Moonblade attack is where most players have issues.
The good news is that you can easily telegraph this attack. Once he starts flying in the air, make sure that you spam your dash toward him and make sure that you continue riding forward. Adula will use a Moonblade and dash in a straight line.
If you dash toward him and continue riding, he will always miss this attack and land behind you. Then, whack at him and watch out for his basic attacks until his HP depletes.
Also, since he is strong against magical attacks, make sure that you are using physical attacks against him. As a melee character, you will have a great time since you do not use any magic. However, if you want to use spells, make sure that you use spells that deal physical damage like Rock Sling.
Alternatively, you can also use Meteorite of Astel combined with the Cerulean Hidden Tear to destroy this dragon quickly. To ensure that you do not take a lot of damage, make sure that you wear armor with high Magic and Physical resistance.
Rewards
Once you have finally defeated the Glintstone Dragon Adula, you will want to know what reward you will get. Fortunately, the rewards are worth it and will help you progress through the main game by leveling up your character. Here is what you get for defeating this mighty dragon:
- 120,000 Runes / Adula’s Moonblade / Dragon Heart x3
Getting three Dragon Hearts is a great thing because you can trade them at the Church of Dragon Communion for Dragon-based Incantations. This will help you defeat future bosses and enemies without any issues since you can get strong Incantations that will deal a lot of damage.
Conclusion
That’s everything you need to know about the Elden Ring Glintstone Dragon Adula boss guide. This boss can be quite annoying at first but it is just like any other dragon fight in the game. If you have already faced a dragon before, you will know its attack patterns and how to defeat it.
