Gotham Knights is releasing on October 21, 2022, and there are several editions of the game you can preorder, including the Gotham Knights Deluxe Edition. The co-op action game is set in an open-world Gotham and features 4 prominent members of the Batman family. Much to our dismay, Alfred is not a playable character.
The Deluxe Edition of Gotham Knights is totally worth it if you love the included skins and colorways. Not so much if those skins and transmogs don’t fancy your tastes.
The standard edition of Gotham Knights is going for $70 on both Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The PC version is slightly cheaper, coming at $60. However, there is the question of the slightly more expensive Deluxe edition and whether its offerings are worth the extra asking price. Let’s break it down:
Is Gotham Knights Deluxe Edition Worth It?
To answer the question, let’s take a look at what the standard edition, priced at $70 is offering:
- Base Gotham Knights Game
- 233 Kustom Batcycle Skin
Gotham Knights Deluxe edition:
- Base Gotham Knights Game
- 233 Kustom Batcycle Skin
- Exclusive “Knightwatch by Jim Lee” Transmog
- Beyond Suitstyle, inspired by Batman Beyond universe
- Salvage to build new gear
- Boosted gear
- Exclusive Emote
- 3 Exclusive Suit Colorways
The Gotham Knights Deluxe Edition costs $90 on consoles and $80 on PC. It is offering a lot of goodies for the extra $20. There is no season pass, or DLC passes included in the Deluxe edition, and the developers haven’t disclosed any plans for future expansions.
Is Gotham Knights Deluxe Edition worth the extra asking price? That depends on how much you like the included items and skins. The Batman Beyond skins look phenomenal, especially Batgirl’s cape looks amazing. Transmog skins by Jim Lee are also “certified bangers” as the kids say.
The salvage to make new gear and boosted gear sound like usual Deluxe edition padding. We will have more information about them once the game is released. Going by history, the boosted gear should be good for initial levels but will be quickly outclassed by the gear you can obtain in the game.
The emote looks OK. It’s a fun thing to have and adds to the fun factor of the game. The 3 exclusive colorways allow you to change the look of any outfit, so it could be useful for those who love excessive customization options.
Overall, the Gotham Knights Deluxe edition seems worth the price. The Skins and Transmog are the stars of this edition; if you don’t like any of them, getting the base edition would be the best.
Collector’s Edition:
There is also a Collector’s Edition of Gotham Knights. It comes with everything the Deluxe Edition has plus:
- Gotham Knights Exclusive New Guard Statues that are inspired by Jim Lee
