So far we have seen a plethora of gameplay of Horizon Forbidden West on the PS5, but now we are getting a first look at Horizon Forbidden West PS4 gameplay straight from Sony themselves.
Horizon Forbidden West PS4 Gameplay
Sony published a blog post only moments ago that shows us a first look at Horizon Forbidden West PS4 Gameplay via small clips. This isn’t a full on gameplay clip mind you but it is still something.
So far this is our first look at the PS4 version of the game, and as expected, the game looks absolutely stunning here. The gameplay was captured on the PS4 Pro and we do not know yet if this version of the game will offer a performance or graphics mode yet.
From the brief clips, the game does look absolutely stunning despite the near decade old hardware of the PS4, but we will have to wait for analysis videos to see how much sacrifice Guerilla Games had to make to make the game work on the aged system.
Keep in mind Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, and God of War Ragnarok will be the last shared exclusives coming to the PS4, and the PS5. With Sony continuing to make PS4 consoles into 2022, it should give the company time to sort out the supply shortage and hopefully allow the PS5 to become a more common item like the PS4 became a year after launch.
Horizon Forbidden West is a sequel to the 2017 original game, Horizon Zero Dawn. It was the first game to use Hideo Kojima’s Decima Engine that would later go on to be used for Death Stranding in 2019. Horizon Forbidden West continues to use the Decima Engine which is why it continues to look amazing.
Horizon Forbidden West is currently a console exclusive title and will launch exclusively on the PS4 and PS5 on February 18th, 2022.
