Elden Ring features tons of weapons scattered across the Lands Between. The world of Elden Ring is extremely grueling and unforgiving. So, players will need all help that they can get in order to defeat enemies and strong bosses standing in their way from becoming an Elden Lord. That is why this guide will take a look at how to get Nagakiba Katana in Elden Ring.
If you are a fan of katanas, then this armament is perfect for you. However, if you do not know where to look for this weapon, you’ll completely miss it. With that being said, let’s dive right in and take a look at how to get Nagakiba Katana in Elden Ring.
Complete Yura’s Quest
The suggested method to obtain the Nagakiba is to find an NPC called Yura. As with most NPCs in Elden Ring, you will first find him at one location and then in a completely different one. So, make sure that you follow his quest so that you can get the Nagakiba Katana at the end.
Limgrave
Players will first encounter Yura in Limgrave. Since he is relatively hidden, you won’t notice him if you don’t actively explore or know where to find him. You can find him located Northwest of Agheel Lake South. Keep heading in that general direction and you will eventually come across a stone structure with an arch. Underneath the arch, you’ll find Yura resting next to a campfire.
Talking to him will start his quest which you’ll have to complete to get the katana. After interacting with him, head over to the Murkwater Cave and gallop in the shallow river next to it. You will be invaded by Bloody Finger Invader and you’ll have to defeat him in order to progress.
If you are finding this fight difficult, just stall it out and you’ll be assisted by an ally. After winning the fight, talk to Yura, who is now located in the same river where you are standing. Interact with him to continue this quest.
Liurnia of the Lakes
Talking with him will give you a hint that you need to head over to the Raya Lucaria Academy. At the main gate of the academy, turn right from the Site of Grace. Eventually, you’ll reach a red summon sign.
Interact with it and you will assist Yura to win his fight against an invader. After defeating the enemy, you’ll automatically be teleported to Yura.
Altus Plateau
At this point, head over to the Second Church of Marika. The first thing you’ll notice here is a wounded Yura. Talk to him and exhaust his dialogues. After that, he will talk about the strongest Bloody Finger called Eleonora, and give you the Nagakiba Katana.
While in the church, walk around for a while and you’ll be invaded by Violet Bloody Finger, Eleonora. Defeat her and you will get the legendary Eleonora’s Pole Blade and Purifying Crystal Tear.
So, you can get tons of amazing weapons just by following this quest and trying to get the katana.
Finishing Yura’s Quest (Optional)
If you just wanted the katana and other weapons, this is where you should stop. However, if you want to complete Yura’s quest and get more rewards, continue reading. After getting the katana and defeating Eleonora, you need to reach the Mountaintop of the Giants beyond the Capital.
Keep progressing through this area until you reach the Zamor Ruins. Here, you will find Yura next to the Site of Grace in the area. However, this isn’t the “real” Yura as his body is now possessed by Shabriri. He will ask you to get the Frenzied Flame by going beneath the Capital.
Now, you can either do his quest or kill him to get Yura’s armor set. I suggest that you complete his quest since it adds to the lore of Elden Ring and allows you to explore newer areas as well. After getting the item and talking to the Three Fingers, head back to this area and talk to Yura to get his armor and complete his quest.
Kill Yura
Alternatively, you can pick a fight with Yura when you spot him. While this might seem easy, the battle is quite difficult. Yura is a skilled fighter that will hit you like a truck and has a lot of HP. So, only attack him if you are certain that you want to fight him and get the Nagakiba Katana.
If you are under-leveled, you will die, a lot! However, you can make the process easier by activating the Murkwater Cave Site of Grace by clearing that dungeon. This will let you quickly run back to Yura without having to travel a long distance.
The good news is that Yura can be stun locked or staggered relatively easily. So, if you manage your stamina, you can kill Yura without him landing a single hit on you. Just make sure that you dodge all her attacks or you will die in an instant if you are low-leveled.
Ask Your Friend for the Nagakiba Katana
Finally, you can ask your friend or other players to give you this weapon. While this isn’t the traditional method, you can get various weapons by trading with other players. If you have a friend that is willing to give you their katana, you can create a private game and give them the password.
Once they are in your world, ask them to drop the Nagakiba so that you can pick it up. This way, you won’t have to go through the entire quest or kill Yura. Since you cannot chat in the game, you will have to talk to your friend on either social media apps or whatever messaging platform you prefer.
Speaking of trading, you can join the Elden Ring Discord or Reddit to find players that are willing to trade. While the chance of you finding someone is low, you can still find players that will give you their Nagakiba. I have seen some players suggest that if I beat them in a duel, they will drop their weapons.
So, ask around and see if someone is willing to part with their katana.
Nagakiba Katana Stats
The weapon is extremely good, especially for the early/mid-game. Its scaling is quite good at first but becomes superb once upgraded. At first, STR is D, and DEX is C. You will need to have 18 STR and 22 DEX to properly equip this katana.
On top of that, it also applies a bleed debuff on enemies which is always a good passive to have. Using its skill – Piercing Fang – will allow you to thrust your weapon quickly in a straight direction to deal tons of damage. While it is a telegraphed attack, you can take out enemies easily with it.
Conclusion
And there you have it; that’s everything you need to know about how to get Nagakiba Katana in Elden Ring. The quickest method is to kill Yura and loot his corpse. However, if you want to get additional rewards and complete a fun quest, follow her side quest and you’ll get this weapon at the end.
