Team Fortress 2 was one of the best multiplayer FPS games released by Valve in a long while. Cutting past Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2 was a highly chaotic class-based shooter where players played various objectives as different classes. With time, and many other problems, the game began to lose players but Team Fortress 2 Classic is looking to revive the best period of the game.
Team Fortress 2 Classic – A better time, a simpler time.
Team Fortress 2 Classic is a free mod released for the public that brings back the cosmetic free days of the game. Based around the 2008-2009 version of the game, the game is just raw gameplay. You don’t have to worry about an abundance of cosmetics or broken weapons ruining the game for you.
The mod has finally released for everyone and needless to say, fans of the original are definitely excited to try the game out. The developers have been working on the game for a long time now and it seems they’re committed on keeping a balanced and updated game for everyone.
You can find download instructions and link on their website. The instructions are a bit daunting for novices, but once you get the hang of it, it will be worth the end result.
As this is a mod, it doesn’t have any official affiliation or endorsement from Valve. All of these efforts were made possible because of hard working fans.
One of the features fans were looking forward to was a Deathmatch game mode to be included in the base game, but due to the complexity of the game type, the developers decided to make that its own standalone game.
Admittedly, the current Team Fortress 2 offered by Valve is still fun but due to the studio being busy with other projects first and not taking the game as seriously anymore, fans of the original aesthetic will definitely enjoy Team Fortress 2 Classic.
The game is an homage to a simpler time in gaming and with the addition of the returning favorite game modes and some new ones, everyone is in for a great time!
