Weird West is an upcoming immersive sim from Devolver Digital and Wolfeye Studios. The development team is made up of developers from the co-creators of Dishonored and Prey. RapRaphaël Colantonio, who worked at Arkane Studios for the majority of his career, and directed several titles is helming the project in his new indie studio. The release date was recently announced for next year, and now the Weird West System Requirements are out.
The game promises to allow players a great deal of freedom in how they interact with the world and characters. Despite the isometric view, it’s so obvious how much the core ideas from Arkane’s previous titles are still present in this. Fans of the immersive sim genre should have this one on their wishlist.
Weird West System Requirements
To play the game on PC, you need the following specifications
Weird West Minimum Requirements
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i5-3470 (4 * 3200) or equivalent / AMD FX-6100 (6 * 3300) or equivalent
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 650 Ti (1024 MB) / Radeon HD 7770 (1024 MB) or equivalent
- Storage: 16 GB available space
Weird West Recommended Requirements
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i7-6950X (10 * 3000) or equivalent / AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8 * 3200) or equivalent
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 1050 (2048 VRAM)/Radeon RX 460 (4096 MB) or equivalent
- Storage: 16 GB available space
These requirements are fairly detailed, and give us a good idea of what to expect performance-wise. The game isn’t demanding when it comes to the GPU requirements but does require relatively decent CPUs. Players looking to get a smooth experience need something like a Ryzen 7 2700, or an i7-6950X.
When it comes to GPUs, there seems to be an error. Both minimum and recommended requirements mention the same GPUs, which are the GTX 1050, and RX 460. While these are accurate for the minimum bit, we believe that the GTX 1060, and RX 580 should be enough. Hopefully, these requirements are updated with this bit.
[Update: The correct requirements have been updated by the developers, and we have as well]
The game also requires a total of 16 GB of free disk space, along with 12 GB of RAM. Windows 10 is the only Operating System mentioned, so we’ll have to know if the game works on Windows 7, and 8 when it launches in 2022.
Weird West on Steam
You can now pre-purchase, or add the game to your wishlist on Steam. It’s coming out next year, on 11 Jan 2022.
Another title slated for next year is the sequel to Oxenfree, called Oxenfree 2 Lost Signals. Make sure to check out its requirements as well.
