Remnant 2 is one of the best releases of the year, and you can read our review to check out our detailed thoughts. Despite its excellent reception, the PC port isn’t without its faults, and doesn’t exactly have a lot of settings to customize, and lacks proper support for wider resolutions. If you want to fix the Remnant 2 ultrawide cutscenes issue, here is how you can do that.
Fixing the Remnant 2 Ultrawide Cutscenes Issue
Remnant 2 has native support for ultrawide monitors, but it’s limited to gameplay, and like a lot of titles, you’ll see black bars during cutscenes. This can get in the way of immersion, but fret not, as Rose from the widescreen community have you covered and released a fix for the problem.
- Head over to the following GitHub link
- Scroll down a bit, and download the latest zip of the patch (197 KB) under Assets by clicking. As of writing, it is version 1.0
- This will download the zip file, which you need to extract using a compression tool like Winrar or 7zip
- Extract the file into the game’s installation location
Remnant2\Binaries\Win64\
Launch the game again, and the cutscenes will no longer have black bars at the sides. This is all you need to do, and until the developers address this in a patch, this is the only fix that adds proper ultrawide support to Remnant 2. Here is how the game looks with the patch applied, the screenshot is provided by the patch author.
If you wish to remove the patch, simply delete the files you copied into the folder.
