Square Enix has officially unveiled more technical details of Star Ocean The Second Story R, a remake of the classic RPG coming to modern platforms. Like many recent Square releases, this title is also coming to PC through Steam, and we now know a bit more about the PC release. Here are the official Star Ocean The Second Story R System Requirements.
Star Ocean The Second Story R System Requirements
Minimum | Recommended | |
---|---|---|
OS | Windows 10, 11 – 64-Bit | Windows 10, 11 – 64-Bit |
Processor | AMD A8-7600 / Intel® Core™ i3-3210 | AMD Ryzen™ 3 1200 / Intel® Core™ i5-3330 |
Memory | 8 GB | 8 GB |
Graphics | AMD Radeon™ RX 460 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750 Ti | AMD Radeon™ RX 470 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 |
DirectX | DirectX 11 | DirectX 11 |
Storage | 20 GB available space | 20 GB available space |
The developers have also shared the target resolution and framerate with these requirements as well. If you’re looking to play the title at 1080p with a 60 FPS target at the “default” settings, you’ll need something like a Ryzen 3 1200 paired with an RTX 470. We’re unsure what default means at this point, but it’s likely high.
This isn’t a demanding title in the least, and most modern PCs should be fine. If you can turn down the resolution, and target 30 FPS, you can even go by with an ancient i3-3210 paired with an RX 460.
Apart from that, you need a total of 20 GB to install the game. 8 GB of RAM is recommended, which is pretty low for a modern PC title.
