Horizon Forbidden West is the latest entry in the Horizon series by Guerilla Games, released in 2022 for the PS4 and PS5. The game takes place in a world where dinosaur-like machines have overtaken the Earth, and humans are divided into various factions. The title is easily a brand new feather in the cap for Sony, but a massive leak for the game has just taken place.
An Alpha Build of Horizon Forbidden West has leaked
It seems that an Alpha Build for Horizon Forbidden West has been leaked onto the internet. In a deleted Tweet from Lance McDonald, and a screenshot was taken by a Reddit user before he deleted it,
It seems that a full Alpha Build of the game in the form of a PKG file has leaked onto the internet. With PSXHax reporting on the leak, and a user in the comments section chiming in that this build was the one sent to testers during the COVID lockdowns, which would make sense.
The leak could potentially contain scrapped content, or other hints of stuff that was removed from the final game before release, which should make for an interesting discovery. While details are still scarce on what the Alpha build could hold, it will also be a double-edged sword, as YouTubers and other content creators will have to wait for the PlayStation Jailbreak scene to break the information apart and make it publicly shareable knowledge.
However, there is also the problem of DMCA strikes happening should that occur, depending on the platform. While it would be interesting to see what becomes of this leak, and what a different game the title was in Alpha, we definitely look forward to hearing about the discovery.
