Elden Ring features countless weapons you can assimilate into your build if you meet their requirements. Everyone has their own playstyle, and brute force doesn’t appeal to everyone, but if you prefer blades that prioritize speed and finesse, consider delving into the realm of Dex weapons in Elden Ring.
From agile Katanas to deadly Curved Swords, and versatile Spears, there’s a healthy supply of Dexterity weapons, if not more so than Strength weapons. And while you’ll find some sort of success with any dextrous weapon, some are obviously a cut above the rest. These are the best dex weapons in Elden Ring!
Moonveil
- Weapon Type: Katana
- Requirements: Str 12, Dex 18, Int 23
- Upgrade Material: Sombre Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Transient Moonlight
- Location: Gael Tunnel, Caelid
The Magma Wyrm found within the depths of Gael Tunnel, drops the Moonveil Katana, and is arguably the best Dex weapon, if not the best weapon altogether, in Elden Ring.
Why Moonveil is the Best Dex Weapon?
The Moonveil Katana, in addition to the native bleed feature common to its weapon type, blends in Magic damage. As a result, it also scales off of Intelligence, but not to the point where you have to recklessly pump up the stat. It’s just a matter of keeping both these these two stats close to each other.
The swift horizontal and vertical arcs using Transient Moonlight make it an amazing option for PVP. This variety in its moveset makes it hard for enemies to predict. All things considered, it’s easily the best Dex weapon.
Nagakiba
- Weapon Type: Katana
- Requirements: Str 18, Dex 22
- Upgrade Material: Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Piercing Fang
- Location: Dropped by Bloody Finger Hunter Yura
Long gone are the days when Rivers of Blood used to be a thing; it’s the Nagakiba’s time to shine. The Nagakiba has by far the longest reach (roughly 2 Uchigatanas), and it’s a versatile Katana that can be infused with various Ashes of War. On top of the amazing reach, it doesn’t sacrifice the Katana’s speed.
Unsheathe and Double Slash, among other things, are some incredible Ashes of War with the Nagakiba. It can also be the next Corpse Piler if used with Double Slash and Bloodflame Blade. You must kill or complete Yura’s storyline to get it.
Morgott’s Cursed Sword
- Weapon Type: Curved Greatsword
- Requirements: Str 14, Dex 35, Arc 17
- Upgrade Material: Sombre Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Cursed Blood Slice
- Location: Give Morgott’s Remembrance to Enia
The Tarnished is guided by Grace, and the Omen King is driven by the sole reason of protecting his family’s legacy from Tarnished punks like us. In an epic duel with Morgott, players can deliver the final blow to the Shardbearer to free him from his tragic past and claim Morgott’s Cursed Sword for themselves.
This is a Curved Greatsword that shines when two-handed. It also has Arcane Scaling, but it’s mainly there to improve the weapon’s Bleed buildup. However, even without having spent many points in Arcane, just the bare minimum, Cursed Blood Slice alone justifies the overwhelming potential of Morgott’s Cursed Sword.
Scavenger’s Curved Sword
- Weapon Type: Curved Sword
- Requirements: Str 9, Dex 14
- Upgrade Material: Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Spinning Slash
- Location: Mt Gelmir
With its blade fashioned after a shark’s teeth, the Scavenger’s Curved Sword obviously brings flesh-tearing effects. To get this amazing Dex weapon, cross the stone bridge northwest of the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace in Mt Gelmir. Over here will be a Grafted Scion, and just next to it is a corpse holding the blade.
This is a natural Bleed machine that strikes fast. In addition to that, you can use it with various Ashes of War for various builds. Most players, however, prefer dual wielding it, one with the Cold Affinity and the other with boosted flesh-tearing effects.
Uchigatana
- Weapon Type: Katana
- Requirements: Str 11, Dex 15
- Upgrade Material: Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Unsheathe
- Location: Samurai Class Weapon, and Deathtouched Catacombs
The Uchigatana is an iconic Katana that goes back to Demon’s Souls. In Elden Ring, this agile blade will help you conquer the Lands Between without looking into more flashy blades.
The Uchigatana’s Unsheathe is a fun skill, but you can use it with various Ashes of Wars. It’s also an excellent backup to the Nagakiba if you want to complete Yura’s quest. They’re literally the same but with different lengths.
However, the fact that you can end up with not one but two Uchigatanas speaks of its superiority. This weapon’s simplicity has allowed it to establish itself as the primary weapon for the Samurai class. That said, to cut down foes more quickly, dual-wield it as bleeds stack quickly that way.
Bloodhound’s Fang
- Weapon Type: Curved Greatsword
- Requirements: Str 18, Dex 17
- Upgrade Material: Sombre Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Bloodhound Finesse
- Location: Forlorn Hound Evergaol, Limgrave
For melee players, The Bloodhound’s Fang is the jack of all trades, master of none. Whether it be Strength, Quality, or pure Dexterity builds, fans revered it as one of the best weapons in the game. In addition, the Bloodhound’s Fang isn’t too harsh on stats, and you can get it very early in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol in Limgrave.
In weapons, innate Bleed is always welcomed, but the Bloodhound’s Fang adds a unique Weapon Skill – Bloodhound Finesse. This is a two-phase attack, which you can use to close gaps between foes. But, while at the same time dealing tons of damage.
Bolt of Gransax
- Weapon Type: Spear
- Requirements: Str 20, Dex 40
- Upgrade Material: Sombre Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Ancient Lightning Dragon
- Location: Lyndell, Royal Capital
The Bolt of Gransax is a Spear that scales with Dexterity, and you can deal incredible damage if you’re a dedicated Dex user. This Spear, like the name suggests, is fashioned from Gransax’s bolt. It rests at the centre of the bolt-like monument in Lyndell, Royal Capital, and players will wield it as the best Elden Ring’s best Spear.
Some endless possibilities in Elden Ring include harnessing powers similar to Zeus, and the Bolt of Gransax turns the Spear into a Zeus-like bolt. This one, however, is coated in crackling red thunder and covers incredible distances.
Reduvia
- Weapon Type: Dagger
- Requirements: Str 5, Dex 13, Arc 13
- Upgrade Material: Sombre Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Reduvia Blood Blade
- Location: Bloody Finger Nerijus in Limgrave
Daggers are incredible Dex weapons in Elden Ring, but the Reduvia Dagger reigns supreme over its pack. It’s one of those weapons you can get very early upon setting foot in Limgrave, with no steep prerequisites. It’s especially true when it mixes ranged and melee attacks into its toolkit, making up for its group’s short reach.
The Reduvia’s standout feature is its unique Ash of War, Reduvia Blood Blade. It sends flesh-eating arcs that bleed enemies dry. Should players cross the Murkwater Catacombs in Limgrave, they will trigger the Bloody Finger Nerijus fight. Although a pain to deal with, Yura gives an extra hand and when defeated, drops the Dagger.
Godskin Peeler
- Weapon Type: Twinblade
- Requirements: Str 17, Dex 22
- Upgrade Material: Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Blackflame Tornado
- Location: Windmill Village, Altus Plateau
Twinblades are the definition of taking enemies down in style and speed – and the Godskin Peeler does that quite well. The Godskin Peeler, although quite heavy, is a great weapon for fleet-footed players. The uneven design also gives it a unique moveset unknown to other Twinblades.
Its skill is incredible and is ideal for taking down groups of enemies, but players can change it to their liking. It is wielded by the Godskin Apostle boss in Windmill Village, Altus Plateau. Players slaying it will get their hands on the weapon.
Hookclaws
- Weapon Type: Claws
- Requirements: Str 8, Dex 14
- Upgrade Material: Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Quickstep
- Location: Stormveil Castle
There’s a striking resemblance to Logan, aka the Wolverine, when dual-wielding the Hookclaws. Looks aside, it’s absurd just how well-rounded this weapon is for Dexterity builds. Plus, it also proc Bleed on it very fast.
With Quickstep, you can steer clear of enemy attacks. However, you can change this Bloodhound’s step, which is significantly better. Players sneaking into Stormveil Castle will get their hands on the Hookclaws. It lies on a dead corpse in the wine cellar compartment on a dead corpse.
Hand of Malenia
- Weapon Type: Katana
- Requirements: Str 16, Dex 48
- Upgrade Material: Sombre Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Waterfowl Dance
- Location: Give Malenia’s Remembrance to Enia
The hefty Dexterity needed to equip the Hand of Malenia makes it more viable for dedicated Dex builds. As the name goes, you can get this Katana by beating one of the game’s hardest bosses, Malenia, and then giving her Remembrance to Enia.
With that said, the Hand of Malenia also builds blood loss on hits like other Katanas. However, its lacklustre Waterfowl Dance skill and the B scaling in Dex it’s left with at +10 leaves a bit more to be desired in a weapon you get from a boss of this caliber. At least make it an “A” Fromsoftware!
Parrying Dagger
- Weapon Type: Dagger
- Requirements: Str 5, Dex 14
- Upgrade Material: Smithing Stone
- Weapon Skill: Parry
- Location: Patches in Murkwater Catacombs
Parrying takes time and commitment to learn, but the Parrying Dagger makes the process easier. This Dagger also has amazing Dex Scaling and even gets an S on Keen.
However, like past Souls games, you can make the most of this weapon alongside other blades that deal tons of crit damage. In Elden Ring, it’s the Miséricorde – another dagger – so it’s a plus as you can benefit from dual wielding it! What’s more, vendor Patches sells it for just 1600 Runes in Murkwater Cave!
Final Thoughts
That’s all for our list of the best Elden Ring dex weapons. If you love using fast weapons that deal tons of damage, ensure using any of the mentioned weapons. But you’re free to pick any Dexterity-based weapon, as all weapons are viable in my books if used right.
