Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is finally out on PC and is available through Steam. Retro shooters have been exploding recently, and there are plenty of good ones to choose from. The PC version runs great for the most part, especially due to its low requirements, but there are a few technical problems players can face. If you’re running into the Boltgun crash at launch issue, here is how you can fix that.
Verify Game Files
First off, if you’re running into crashing there’s a good chance something is wrong with your game files. To make sure everything is in order, you can use Steam to scan through the files and re-download anything broken or missing.
- Open Steam and navigate to your library
- Right-click on Boltgun in your library

- Open Steam and navigate to your library
- Right-click on Boltgun in your library
- Click on Manage followed by Browse local files
- This will take you to where Boltgun is installed
- Right-click on the Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun.exe and select Properties
- Now, in the Compatibility tab, check Run this program as an administrator
Add an Exception to Your Anti-Virus
Your anti-virus software can potentially add Boltgun as a threat. To ensure that isn’t the case, try adding the game to the list of exceptions or exclusions and try again.
