Alan Wake 2 is coming out in a few days near the end of October 2023, and we finally have more technical details of the PC version. Remedy Entertainment has now officially shared the Alan Wake 2 system requirements which you can check out here, and these are a significant step up from Control.

That is a lot to take in, but we’re glad that the developers have shared multiple target resolutions, framerate, and ray-tracing presets along with upscaling techniques. For now, if you’re looking to play the game at Medium settings without RT at 1080p, you’ll need something like an RTX 3070 paired with a Ryzen 7 3700X.
Ray-Tracing Presets
On the other extreme, if you want to play the game with path-tracing enabled, you’ll need an RTX 4080. That’s not enough though, as you’ll need to turn on DLSS. Not only that, but DLSS has to be set to Performance mode to attain 60 FPS. For low ray-tracing, with a 30 FPS target, you’ll still need something like an RTX 3070 to play 1080p.
This is an incredibly demanding title, and upscaling techniques are required across each preset. Even at Low settings, with a 30 FPS target at 1080p, you need to turn DLSS on.
