Sons of the Forest is a tough survival game where you have to survive in the forest on a remote island. You are surrounded by cannibals and other threats all the time. To make your survival process easier, you need to collect weapons found across the map. That is why this guide will show you all the weapon and gun locations in Sons of the Forest.
There are tons of weapons that you can find. Some of them can be found in multiple locations while others are only found in specific areas. With that said, let’s dive right in and get started.
Sons of the Forest: All Weapon and Gun Location
We have not mentioned the duplicate locations as they are sometimes random and each player will find them in different areas. However, we have mentioned the weapons and guns that are always found in the same area.
Stun Baton
Finding the Stun Baton early in the game can be extremely useful as you can use it to keep the cannibals away. However, to find it, you need to head deep into the forest and know exactly where to look for it.
Once you reach the area shown in the map above, you will find the Stun Baton wedged in the ground with some skulls around it. Get close to it and pick it up. This weapon deals a good amount of damage and – as the name suggests – can stun targets to make them vulnerable.
Rope Gun
The Rope Gun is found near the Stun Baton in a cave. You will have to go through the cave and fight tons of enemies to get to this location. While you can simply run from the enemies to reach here, make sure that you are prepared to enter the cave – especially early in the game.
Near the end of the cave, you will see an open container that has the Rope Gun inside it. Collect it because it will be extremely useful in progressing through the game.
Pistol
You can find the pistol quite early on depending on your starting position on the map. Head to the west coast of the map and you will spot a life raft in the distance. While it might look like you can’t get there, you can easily swim to get to this area.
However, there is a shark in this area so make sure that you quickly swim to the raft and get on. Once you get on, you will spot a corpse, a GPS locator, and a pistol. Collect all the loot and quickly swim back to shore once the shark is away from you.
Shotgun
Having a Shotgun is essential in any survival game. Not only does it pack a punch, but it also makes you look cool as well. The good news is that you can find shotguns in various locations. However, since you start on the left side of the map, getting to this one is easy.
However, you will need a shovel so that you can dig down and open a grave. Once you do that, you can take the shotgun next to the corpse.
Fire Axe
The Fire Axe is the most powerful variant of all the axes in Sons of the Forest. As the name suggests, it is used to cut down doors – or any threats that you might be facing. It packs a strong punch and can allow you to quickly chop down trees as well.
Crossbow
Getting the crossbow can be a bit difficult if you are just starting out in the game. It can be found after going through a cave and entering a hatch. However, once you are inside the hatch, you will require a keycard to move forward.
Once you have the keycard, you can open the door to enter inside and find the crossbow next to a corpse as seen above. It is a powerful weapon that deals tons of damage. However, the reload time is a bit on the higher side so keep that in mind.
Guitar
While you might not want to use a guitar as a weapon ordinarily, finding it in the forest will help you take on enemies that get too close. I admit that it isn’t an ideal weapon but you can dish out a lot of pain by swinging it and hitting any tribe people or mutants that come your way.
You can find the guitar inside the bunker on top of the bar stand.
Chainsaw
If you weren’t satisfied with the guitar, you can also find the chainsaw in the same bunker. It can be found in the theater room behind the guest door. It is an extremely useful weapon that can quickly dispose of all your enemies without a second thought.
Compound Bow
To get this weapon, you need to head to the location seen above and start digging. Once you get to this area, you will see a prompt for the shovel. Dig down and you will see a bunker. Enter it and keep going forward until you reach the bathroom area.
Here, you will find the Compound Bow next to a corpse in the bathtub. You can pick it up and start using it. This weapon has precise accuracy and is a massive improvement over your regular bow.
Katana
The Katana is one of the coolest weapons in any game. Luckily, the same can be said about Sons of the Forest as well. You can find this amazing sword in a bunker located on the map shown above.
You have to head to Level 2 and enter the second room. Here, you can find this beautiful sword on the wooden table.
Revolver
The Revolver can be found in the Golf Course Digsite. To get here, you need to use your shovel to dig down and enter the hatch. Once inside, you can see the gun beside a dead worker in the first room.
Having a Revolver feels amazing as it does a lot of damage and has good accuracy as well. However, the reload time isn’t the best so keep that in mind.
Putter
Just like the guitar, the putter isn’t an ideal weapon. However, given the circumstances, you need to use whatever you can get your hands on. Swinging this bad boy around deals a lot of damage and will keep you safe when you get attacked.
To find it, head to the bunker where you found the Katana. Here, you can find the putter in the second room on the couch. The positioning of this weapon gives me flashbacks of The Last of Us Part 2, and that is not something I wanted to remember right now.
Modern Axe
While you already have an axe in your inventory from the start, finding the modern axe is much better. It not only has a bit more reach but also deals more damage as well. Plus, you can find it early in the game depending on your starting location.
To find it, make sure that you head to the location shown on the map and look for a campsite. Here, you will find a few corpses with the axe next to a person near a tent. The best part is that you can save your progress or sleep in the tent after getting the axe.
Machete
Finally, you can find the Machete in Sons of the Forest without any issues. All you have to do is head over to the location shown on the map above and look for a deflated rubber boat. Search inside the boat and you’ll find this strong weapon.
