There’s a new Anarchy Destiny 2 bug in Season of the Haunted, making Anarchy the most overpowered weapon in Destiny 2 right now. Sort of.
A recently discovered bug reveals that somehow, someway, Anarchy is doing way more damage than intended. Instead of the usual double damage you would get for tagging a boss, Anarchy is doing 5x damage.
Is Anarchy Destiny 2 Bugged or Buffed?
Now, this isn’t just a silent buff. We know this is an Anarchy Destiny 2 bug because of how the damage increase is implemented. Rather than a regular, flat increase, Anarchy is doing 500% damage against Champions and Lost Sector bosses. Otherwise, it’s still doing normal damage. You’re not going to want to take Anarchy into Vow of the Disciple anytime soon.
Bungie has yet to comment on the Anarchy Destiny 2 bug, but once it does you’ll see its response here.
Presumably, this is a minor issue that will be fixed within a patch or two. I don’t think that the severity of the bug warrants Anarchy being disabled, especially with how many things Bungie has disabled within the first week of Season of the Haunted.
The Anarchy Destiny 2 bug doesn’t affect raid bosses or anything of that nature, so it doesn’t really impact the balance of the game. The main reason you would be running it is to farm Lost Sectors. Lost Sector bosses die in seconds with an efficient farm, though, so it doesn’t make too much of a difference.
Either way, something strange is going on with Anarchy. It’s doing extra damage to certain enemies and no one is quite sure why.
