Elden Ring features various classes that have their own advantages and disadvantages. The Wretch class allows players to put points into whatever stat they feel like. Since there is no set direction for this class, you can do whatever you want. If you want to find out about the best Wretch build in Elden Ring, you’ve come to the right place.

We will show you everything you need to know about the class. The Wretch can be a difficult class to master for beginners since it is open-ended. However, we will also show you the optimal playstyle so that you can master this class and finish the game. With that said, let’s dive right in and check out the Wretch build in Elden Ring.

Wretch Build

In this guide, we will look at all the stats, gear, weapons, and other useful items that you will need to use as a Wretch. This class is quite versatile, so you can mix and match a lot of different items. However, we will talk about some of the best gear that will assist you in the end game as well.

Here is a brief rundown of what you can expect in this build:

In this guide, I have mentioned useful gear for each stat. No matter what stat you want to prioritize, you can find the relevant gear for it down below. Keep in mind that you cannot use everything mentioned on this list since you can only prioritize certain stats.

For example, if you are putting points in Faith, you will be able to use the Incantations mentioned below but not the sorceries or other INT-based items.

Which Stat to Level Up?

The Wretch starts with 10 points in all stats. Since you don’t excel in anything, this makes the game quite harder – especially at the start. The only consistent suggestion for leveling we have is to put points into Vigor early, as you’ll need the extra health.

Other than that, it depends if you want to go for a magic build or a physical one. We’ll show you each direction that you can take with this build (Faith, intelligence, Dexterity, or Strength).

  • Vigor: This is the primary stat that you’ll want to level up during the start of the game. This will allow you to survive longer and progress through the game.
  • Faith: If you prefer using Incantations, you can go for the Faith stat as it will help you not only use them but also equip some of the best Faith-based weapons.
  • Strength: If you are someone that likes using large weapons that hit like a train, make sure that you put a lot of points in STR.
  • Dexterity: This stat will help you out a lot if you prefer fast-paced weapons that deal a good amount of damage and apply bleed.
  • Intelligence: If you want to use sorceries, you will have to put a lot of points in Intelligence.
  • Mind: Finally, putting points in the Mind stat will help you have more FP so that you can use spells and Sprit Ashes that require a lot of mana.

Armor Sets

When it comes to Armor in Elden Ring, you do not have to put a lot of stock in specific sets and their unique bonuses. Instead, you can mix and match various sets to make the most out of the weight, stats, and protection. While some of the items won’t look good on your character, you’ll have to still use them.

It’s not worth getting a set that gives you a measly +3 Dex/Int stat if the result is a lack of protection from attacks. In that regard, there are only a few armor sets that you can use viably for a Dex/Int build.

I have suggested a few armor sets that you can use throughout the game. It depends on your playstyle and requirement to see which one suits you most and which one you’ll want to level up.

Raya Lucarian Sorcerer Set (Intelligence/DEX)

Raya Lucarian Sorcerer Set (Intelligence/DEX)

During the early stages of the game, you will come across a dungeon called Raya Lucaria Academy. Here, you will encounter many sorcerer enemies that have a mask and cool robes as their attire. Luckily, you can get this outfit for yourself as well.

The best part is that it works well with your INT build if you want to focus more on that part of the build. The Raya Lucarian Sorcerer Set is a lightweight armor that caters to Intelligence characters, offering light Physical and moderate Magical defense.

This armor provides your character with protection and different resistance against all types of damage and negative status effects.

Spellblade Set (Intelligence/DEX)

Spellblade Set (Intelligence/DEX)

Moving on to the Spellblade Set, it offers great stats and looks amazing as well. If you have played the game a bit, you’ll notice that this outfit is worn by Rogier which can be found in the Roundtable Hold. He drops this after he passes away so you can just pick it up at that point without any worries.

Keep in mind that this outfit does not boost the damage of your sorceries. Instead, it only boosts the effects of your Ashes of War. So, if you plan to use a melee weapon like the Moonveil Katana, this is a good outfit to have. Despite what the in-game description set says, it increases the damage of Magic dealing ashes of war/skills by 2% per piece.

Mausoleum Knight Set (Faith)

Mausoleum Knight Set

This set can be farmed quite easily in Liurnia of the Lakes, or near the Walking Mausoleum in the Weeping Peninsula. However, you might have to farm a lot depending on your RNG. So, do not give up if you do not get the set in a few tries.

The Mausoleum Knight Set has superb physical and magical protection for an armor set that you can earn early in the game. That is one of the main reasons why I suggest that you get this as soon as possible. This will help you get to the endgame without any issues.

Briar Set (Faith)

Briar Set

The Briar set should be your end-game goal when going for the Faith build. This set can be obtained after defeating Elemer of the Briar, a boss found in The Shaded Castle to the west of the Altus Plateau. Once you’ve defeated him, return to the Roundtable Hold where you can purchase it from Enia.

Keep in mind that this boss is similar to a Bell-Bearing Hunter. So, if you have trouble against those types of bosses, you’ll have to be careful against him as well.

While you can wear the full set, I recommend that you replace the helmet with the Ruler’s Mask. Even though it won’t offer the same amount of protection, it will increase your Faith which is a great thing. This helmet can be found on a corpse northeast of the Abandoned Coffin Lost Grace, which can be accessed from the Ruin-Strewn Precipice dungeon.

Land of Reeds Set (DEX)

Land of Reeds Set (DEX)

Land of Reeds Set is an Armor made from strips of iron fastened together and worn by the warriors of the Land of Reeds, made to reduce damage intake and protect warriors during battle. This is the set that the Samurai class starts with and it looks absolutely amazing.

While wielding a katana, you cannot go wrong with wearing a traditional samurai outfit as well. Plus, it is quite lightweight which goes hand in hand with the fast-paced nature of the Moonveil. While wearing this armor, you will mostly stay at Medium Load which is the optimal equipment load that you should aim for.

The best part is that you can easily apply bleed to the enemy as well since you won’t have any debuff on your Stamina either. This is one of the best armors with this weapon in the game.

Raging Wolf Set (DEX)

Raging Wolf Set (DEX)

The Raging Wolf Set is a Medium Weight armor. Armor provides our character with protection and different resistance against all types of damage and negative status effects. While some of the stats are lower than the Land of the Reeds armor, this one is overall better in the late game.

With your Endurance leveled up, you will eventually lower your equipment weight to Light Load. This is extremely useful against late-game bosses like Malenia, Radagon, Godfrey, etc. Plus, this set looks extremely cool which automatically gives you style points!

Bull Goat Set (STR)

Bull Goat Set (STR)

The Bull-Goat Set Great Horned Tragoth’s Armor Set covers its wearer with a pair of giant horns, providing staunch poise. This set has the highest amount of poise and physical defense in the game right now but it is also the heaviest as well.

So, make sure that you upgrade your Endurance to carry this heavy armor without having your character do a fat roll. In terms of looks, it is quite intimidating. Having this armor equipped will allow you to tank a lot of extra hits without dying. If you don’t want to worry about your HP and continue fighting the enemy, this is the set for you.

Blaidd’s Set (STR)

Blaidd’s Set (STR)

Finally, let’s talk about Blaidd’s set. While there are better options out there, if you want to cosplay as Guts from Berserk, make sure that you use this set alongside the Greatsword. Blaidd’s Set is comprised of the three pieces of armor he can be seen wearing, as well as a replica mask of his head that can be found separate from the other three pieces.

The best part is that you can even alter the outfit to remove the cape if you feel like that’s too much. Getting this set can be quite a hassle, though. It is locked behind one of the most extensive quests in Elden Ring (or any Souls games for that matter).

Talisman

Talismans play a massive role in all types of builds. That is why Elden Ring is completely filled with different types of them. There are so many Talismans that you can find across the map that it can be quite overwhelming for a newer player.

However, there are a few that will help you take your Wretch build to the next level. So, make sure that you get the ones we’ve mentioned below to make the most out of your build.

Erdtree’s Favor (DEX/INT)

Erdtree’s Favor (DEX/INT)

While playing a Dex/Int build, you will often find yourself having issues with your total equipment load, HP, and Stamina. Since you won’t be directly applying points into Vigor or Strength, having this talisman allows you to have increased stats.

While this might not sound like a big deal, it actually makes a lot of difference. Since you need all the HP, Endurance, and equipment load you can get, make sure that you equip this talisman. There are three variants of it (normal, +1, and +2). If you can get your hands on the +2 variant, make sure that you equip it.

Graven Mass Talisman (DEX/INT)

Graven Mass Talisman (DEX/INT)

You can also try out the Graven Mass Talisman as well. This is a great option since it raises the potency of all your sorceries. This is great for dealing additional damage or healing yourself if needed. The best part is that it greatly increases the potency which means that all your spells will deal tons of damage.

Combine this with the next talisman and your charged attacks will almost one shot enemies without any issues.

Two Fingers Heirloom (Faith)

Two Fingers Heirloom

Starting with the Two Fingers Heirloom, it is a Talisman that increases your Faith stat by a full 5 points. It is a straightforward item that will increase your Faith which is a crucial stat for a Confessor. While this might not sound like a big deal, it makes a lot of difference whether in the early game or in the long run.

During the later stages of the game, a single level up costs tens of thousands of Runes. That is when a Talisman like this comes in handy. It allows you to invest in secondary stats like Endurance and Mind. Plus, you won’t be sacrificing the potency of your Faith due to this Talisman.

Ancestral Spirit’s Horn (Faith)

Ancestral Spirit’s Horn

If you are going to use a lot of Incantations, then the Ancestral Spirit’s Horn will be your best friend. It allows you to become self-sufficient and ensures that you will use recovery items less frequently

The Ancestral Spirit’s Horn restores 3 FP to your character for each enemy you kill. That is all there is to it. There are no hidden debuffs or any other passives. As long as you kill any foe, you will restore 3 FP. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot of FP but when you clear a group of enemies, your FP will be fully back up in no time.

While it doesn’t come in handy against bosses – since you have to fight 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 – it does help you save FP flasks during dungeons until you come across a Site of Grace.

Winged Sword Insignia (DEX)

Winged Sword Insignia

The Winged Sword Insignia is a great talisman to choose when using the Moonveil. It raises the attack power of your hits with each successive attack. Since you will want to constantly attack the enemy to proc bleed, this is one of the best talismans that you can use.

Plus, if you want to go even further beyond, you can use the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia which enhances your hits even more. Regardless of which variant you go for, both are extremely viable and work great with this katana.

Warrior Shard (DEX)

Warrior Shard

The Warrior Jar Shard is an effective talisman that boosts the attack power of all skills. This will greatly enhance your Transient Moonlight attack which already is quite good. Improving it further will allow you to deal tons of damage with your skills and your melee attacks combined.

Great-Jar Talisman (STR)

Getting the Talisman.

This Talisman will raise your maximum equip load by 19%. For a new player, this might not sound like a big deal.

However, if you are a Souls player or have been playing Elden Ring for a while, you’ll know that having more equip load is always a welcomed addition. This will allow you to finally wear heavier armor and weapons so that you can go for a proper Strength build.

Plus, thanks to the increased equip load, you will not fat-roll either. So, you can easily equip whatever you want and play the game normally without any issues.

Radagon’s Soreseal (STR)

Radagon's Soreseal

Moving on to the Legendary Talisman, Radagon’s Soreseal, is also extremely useful for pure melee builds, relying on physical damage. The Radagon’s Soreseal, besides raising your Vigor and Endurance, also adds 5 points to your Strength and Dexterity. That’s an extra 20 levels without spending any Runes!

However, you’ll be taking 15% extra damage as a trade-off, which shouldn’t be of concern since your only way of avoiding damage is to learn enemy attack patterns. You can find this Talisman extremely early in Fort Faroth.

Weapons

Moving on to the weapons, having the right sword is extremely important for a Wretch. If you want to use powerful weapons that deal tons of damage, make sure that you have the ideal sword. Since the game offers a wide variety of weapons to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming for most players.

Moonveil Katana (DEX/INT)

Moonveil Katana (DEX/INT)

The Moonveil katana is one of my favorite weapons in Elden Ring. It does a mix of magical and physical damage with every hit. Plus, it also has the bleed effect which is always a welcomed addition. On top of that, its skill – Transient Moonlight – is extremely effective against a lot of enemies in the game.

When you use it, your character will fire a straight wave while unsheathing the katana. This can be used to force the enemy to either dodge and be vulnerable or take the damage in PvP. With all these effects, bleeding takes the backseat with this weapon.

This weapon should be ideal for a Dex/Int build but you can try a few more swords as well if you want to try out different weapons. Otherwise, I highly suggest sticking with the Moonveil as it has great stats and works wonders with this build.

Lusat’s Glintstone Staff (DEX/INT)

Lusat’s Glintstone Staff

Found after killing Nox Swordstress & Nox Priest boss. This staff is a weird one. The initial Intelligence requirement is huge, and it is upgraded with Somber Stones. Also, it has another doozy, it costs 50% more FP to cast each spell with this staff on the contrary the damage output is greater too.

This staff is recommended for players that prefer to keep higher FP flasks and have massive Mind investment, or if you are rocking Cerulean Hidden Tear talisman that eliminates all FP consumption for some time to truly take advantage of that enhanced damage without the downside of the FP running out early.

Uchigatana (Faith)

Uchigatana

To start with, the Uchigatana is a fantastic choice for any character that utilizes melee attacks. While it’s not a traditional weapon for Faith builds, you can use it on the Confessor since it is a strong katana.

If you pick the Samurai class, the Uchigatana will be your starting weapon. Players might think that a starting weapon won’t be this good, but this katana is superb from early to late game. However, if you didn’t pick the Samurai class, worry not because you can still find this weapon pretty early in the game.

The ‘Blood Loss Buildup’ passive effect applies to almost all enemies since you will be leveling up your Strength as a Confessor. As long as you attack frequently and build up the meter, the Hemorrhage status will take place and shred through enemies with high HP

Sword of Night and Flame (Faith)

Sword of Night and Flame

The final weapon that we’ll talk about is the infamous Sword of Night and Flame. If you have been playing Elden Ring for a while, you’ll know how strong this weapon used to be. However, after getting nerfed in a few patches, players stopped using it.

The good news is that you can still use this weapon and get great results without any issues. Although this weapon is great for Faith builds, it works great with Intelligence builds as well. However, the main issue is that equipping this requires the player to have 12 points in both Strength/Dexterity and 24 points in both Faith and Intelligence.

This forces you to put points into only these stats and avoid all others like Vigor, Endurance, and Mind. This can cause your HP, Stamina, and FP to be extremely low. Since you get this weapon a bit later on in the game, I suggest that you respec your character when you have enough points. Otherwise, you’ll be extremely squishy and will get one shot from every boss or strong enemy in the game.

The Sword of Night and Flame was my go-to weapon for the majority of my Intelligence playthrough. It is one of the best weapons for the mid-game due to its scaling and stats. This sword has three unique forms of attack, which provide variety to the user.

Using a heavy attack in the Night and Flame stance will summon a wave of flames that deals an insane amount of damage.

Similarly, if you use a light attack, you’ll summon Comet Azur which has a decent range. This should be your go-to skill in most cases. Not only does it deal a lot of damage, but it also can help you attack from a safe distance as well. Despite getting nerfed in an update, this weapon still holds up against all bosses.

Godskin Peeler (DEX)

Godskin Peeler (DEX)

The Godskin Peeler scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good weapon for melee users but requires a high dexterity character. This weapon is extremely effective for players that are going for a Strength and Dexterity hybrid build since it has a scaling of C in DEX and E in STR.

To get this weapon, you need to defeat the Godskin Apostle in the Windmill Village. While the boss itself isn’t that tough, he can use some attacks that are quite erratic.

Elenora’s Poleblade (DEX)

Elenora’s Poleblade (DEX)

The weapon is extremely good, especially for the early game. Its scaling is decent at first but becomes superb once upgraded. At first, STR is E, DEX is E, and ARC is D. You will need to have 12 STR, 21 DEX, and 19 ARC to properly equip this pole blade.

On top of that, it also applies a bleed debuff on enemies which is always a good passive to have. Using its skill – Bloodblade Dance – will allow you to do a flurry of tornado-like attacks while leaping in the air. This is a superb way to attack an enemy and immediately go back to your starting position to evade their counterattacks.

Giant-Crusher (STR)

Giant-Crusher (STR)

Players looking into the Giant-Crusher’s flavor text will come to know that it’s a massive hammer used against Giants. Should players pick it up from the Carriage in the outskirts of Lyndell, it’ll still rain down pain on foes, Giant or not. It’s so big that it can flatten bosses with a few hits.

The Giant-Crusher, in turn, needs a hefty amount of Strength, making it available to dedicated strength users only. But all things considered, it’s a hard hitter and a certified poise breaker. Dual wielding them, on the other hand, amplifies the effectiveness of this Colossal Weapon.

Greatsword (STR)

Greatsword (STR)

Berserk has a massive influence on the Souls game. One way or another, Guts’ Dragon Slayer has been there, but not in a way that blatantly copied the massive heap of iron. In Elden Ring, it’s known as the Greatsword.

While getting the Greatsword is a struggle, it’s well worth the risk as the Greatsword is undeniably the best Strength weapon in Elden Ring.

Like Guts’ Sword, it has massive reach and is versatile enough to have its Affinity and Ashes of War changed. The massive damage it dishes out while staggering foes is nothing unusual for this Colossal Sword. But beware, it’s only wielded by those with ungodly Strength, and that is why it’s suited to cleave inhumane bosses.

Sacred Seals (FAITH BUILD)

Having the ideal Sacred Seal is crucial when playing the Prophet in Elden Ring. Since there are quite a few options to choose from, we will show you some of the best ones. Keep in mind that your playstyle might require a different seal but the ones mentioned will be useful till the end.

Erdtree Seal

Erdtree Seal

The best Sacred Seal in Elden Ring is easily the Erdtree Seal. It can be looted from a corpse located in Volcano Manor. The fastest way to get here is to start Rya’s quest line. Get her necklace and then find her on top of the Grand Lift of Dectus. She will take you to the manor where you can find this item.

Players looking to go for a complete Faith build will love this seal since it offers tons of damage. While it doesn’t buff any particular type of Incantation, you can gain a lot of damage by upgrading the Erdtree Seal. However, keep in mind that you need to have at least 40 Faith to properly use this.

Dragon Communion Seal

Dragon Communion Seal

The Dragon Communion Seal is one of the most popular choices for many players dabbling into Incantations in Elden Ring. As the name suggests, it boosts all your Dragon Incantations which are quite strong on their own as well.

If you are familiar with Dragon Incantations, you’ll know how important it is to level up your Faith and Arcane. So, use this seal to further enhance your damage and potentially one-shot most enemies. This can take a lot of players by surprise during a PvP battle.

Keep in mind that you need to gather Dragon Hearts to unlock new Incantations from the Dragon Communion Church. This can be a hassle since certain dragons can be extremely difficult depending on your build.

Godslayer’s Seal

Godslayer’s Seal

The Godslayer’s Seal is one of my favorite Sacred Seals in Elden Ring. As the name suggests, it boosts your Godslayer Incantations which are extremely fun to use on their own. You can find this item in Stormveil Castle if you have a spare Stonesword Key on hand.

However, to use it, you need to have 4 Strength and 27 Faith. So, make sure that you level up your Faith quite a bit if you want to make the best use of this seal. This is the primary reason why it isn’t higher on the list. You will have to level up your Faith stat a lot and ignore other stats for the time being.

If you are going for a full Faith build, then this seal will be extremely useful for you. However, for hybrid users, you might want to test out other seals on this list.

Clawmark Seal

Clawmark Seal

Thanks to its low stat requirement, you can use this seal early in the game. It offers a great alternative to your Finger Seal since it enhances all beast-type spells. Plus, you can use it if you want to go for a hybrid melee build.

To get it, you need to get a Deathroot and give it to D, Hunter of the Dead back at the Roundtable Hold. This will unveil the location of a teleporter that will take you straight to Caelid. Now, you need to interact with Guranq the Beast Clergyman.

After giving him one Deathroot, you can get the Clawmark Seal and start buffing your Beast Incantations. Since it only requires 4 Strength and 10 Faith to use, you can start using it as soon as you get it.

Incantations (FAITH BUILD)

As a Prophet in Elden Ring, Incantations are extremely vital as they will allow you to make the most out of your build. There are tons of Incantations in the game that you can use. Some of them allow you to buff your weapon, heal yourself, deal damage to enemies, or dispose of enemies that surround you.

Since there are a lot of options to choose from, we have mentioned some of the best ones. I would suggest that you check out other Incantations as well to see if they suit your style or not. Otherwise, going for the ones mentioned will give you guaranteed results.

Lightning Spear

Lightning Spear

The Lightning Spear is one of the best Incantations in Elden Ring. This is especially true for the Prophet class as it goes extremely well with it. If you are a Souls veteran, you’ll know that this spell has been in every Dark Souls game which is a great thing.

As the name suggests, you can throw a large spear of lightning to the ground to deal damage. Not only does it deal tons of damage, but it also looks extremely cool as well. While the casting time is a bit longer than I’d like, you can reduce it by applying the appropriate Talisman.

Black Flame

Black Flame

The Black Flame incantation is a strong spell that is quite common. When you use it, you will throw a ball of raging black fire that will continue to sap foes’ HP for a short time. Plus, you can charge this attack to enhance its potency and cause the fireball to explode upon impact.

The easiest way to get this is to buy it from Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold for 7,500 Runes.

Black Flame Ritual

Black Flame Ritual

This incantation allows you to summon a circle of black flame pillars around your character. The longer you charge, the larger the circle will be. This forces enemies to run away from you while this effect is active. If you are getting overwhelmed, use this to cause the enemy to run while you chase them.

To get this, head over to the Mountaintops of the Giants and enter the Spiritcaller’s Cave. Here, you will have to fight a Spirit-Caller Snail. While this fight is easy, it will summon both the Godskin Apostle and the Godskin Noble. Defeating them can be quite troublesome so be prepared for that.

Beast Claw

Beast Claw

The Beast Claw is one of the best Incantations in the game, and it can be made even better thanks to the Clawmark Seal. To get it, you need to give 5 Deathroot to Gurranq and collect this Incantation. You can use it in quick succession and it only uses 10 FP per use.

The best part is that you only need 8 points in Faith to use this spell; making it a strong spell that you can potentially spam during combat.

Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Spear

Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Spear

Like the Lightning Spear, the Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Spear summons a red lightning spear to stab enemies from above. It creates a spear of red lightning and stabs it into the ground from above. On impact, the spear will burst into trails of lightning covering the area.

The best part is that this spell is a close-range AOE, with many lightning waves spreading out. You can easily take out enemies that get too close for comfort thanks to this. Plus, the damage of this Incantation is insane especially if you use the Dragon Communion Seal.

In patch 1.07, the FP cost for this spell was reduced making it better in the latest updates of the game.

Sorceries (INT BUILD)

If you are leveling up your INT stat in Elden Ring, Sorceries are extremely vital as they will allow you to make the most out of your build. There are tons of spells in the game that you can use. Some of them allow you to buff your character, heal yourself, or deal damage to enemies.

Since there are a lot of options to choose from, we have mentioned some of the best ones. I would suggest that you check out other Sorceries as well to see if they suit your style or not. Otherwise, going for the ones mentioned will give you guaranteed results.

Comet Azur

Starting with the most popular sorcery in the game – Comet Azur. This is not only one of the strongest spells buts it’s downright broken at times. While it has been nerfed now and players have learned how to counter it, this spell was a menace when Elden Ring initially came out.

To use it, you must require a hefty amount of stats but the damage it dishes out is insane. You fire a laser from your staff in a straight line that deals damage to anything it hits. On top of that, it has a long range which makes it harder for the enemy to dodge.

If you use this against bosses, you can quickly shred through their HP without a second thought. Some bosses are so easy due to this that you won’t even feel a challenge against them.

Carian Slicer

Carian Slicer

The Carian Slicer is a short and simple spell. It allows you to use your staff to slice in front of you like a sword. It deals a decent amount of damage but its main purpose is to force the enemy to reposition. If you are using this against bosses, then I suggest that you wait for a good moment and then use it.

Certain bosses can be hit with this spell a lot while they are either charging or just finished an attack. However, make sure that you only use it if you get a chance. Since you have to get close to the enemy, you are leaving yourself open.

Carian Phalanx

Carian Phalanx

The Carian Phalanx is a great spell that has multiple uses. For starters, you can cast it and run toward the enemy in PvP to force them to back off. This forces them to stop attacking you and roll through all the daggers. Meanwhile, you can run at them at full force and swing your sword if you are carrying it.

Otherwise, you can use it as a defensive spell as well. If the enemy gets too close, the daggers will fly toward them and force them to roll away. The best part is that if you use it against bosses or normal enemies, they are bound to get hit with all the daggers since they can’t dodge it easily.

Loretta’s Great Bow

Loretta’s Great Bow

Moving on to a spell that I like a lot but is somewhat tricky to use. Loretta’s Great Bow allows the caster to charge an attack and fire a large magical arrow. While it deals a lot of damage and can take out even the strongest enemies at full charge, it is difficult to hit.

In PvP, the players will almost always dodge it since this attack can be easily telegraphed. Plus, you need to charge for quite a bit for it to fully become active. During that time, you are extremely vulnerable and the enemy can charge toward you.

Swift Glintstone Shard

Swift Glintstone Shard

The Swift Glintstone Shard is a simple spell that is good for the earlier stages of the game. It causes your character to fire a single bolt of magical projectile that goes in a straight line. While it doesn’t deal a lot of damage, the casting time is extremely low.

Plus, it doesn’t consume a lot of FP either so you can potentially spam it on weaker enemies or even bosses to reduce their HP. Since it is a quick attack, you can use it and immediately run away if the boss is charging toward you.

Founding Rain of Stars

Founding Rain of Stars

This spell not only looks pretty but also deals a lot of damage. If you use it in PvP, the enemy will be forced to reposition and attack from a different angle. When you cast it, the attack takes a few seconds to come raining down. However, if you use it against bosses, they will often take all the damage since they do not roll away.

Thanks to its high area of effect damage, you can take care of enemies that are in groups without any worries.

Spirit Ashes

Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring are a great tool in your arsenal. They assist you in combat by either tanking damage or applying debuffs to enemies. The good thing is that you can summon Spirit Ashes against bosses and against groups of enemies as well.

While some players say that this makes the game easy, it is your choice if you want to use them or not. I’d suggest using them if you are a new player in the game.

Lhutel the Headless

Lhutel the Headless

This is a Legendary Spirit and Summon in Elden Ring. When used, it summons an allied spirit version of an unmounted Mausoleum Knight. Lhutel will periodically teleport while in combat, allowing her to move around quickly, avoid being surrounded by enemies, and avoid large area-of-effect attacks from enemies.

Also, the strikes from her lance cause a buildup of the death blight status on her target. Unfortunately, the vast majority of enemies found in Elden Ring are immune to death blight.

Her heavy armor, great shield, teleportation ability, a mix of melee and ranged attacks, and immunity against all status effects allow her to work well alongside a variety of player builds as a “tank” or damage dealer.

However, due to her teleporting around the area, the enemies might stop attacking her and start focusing on her instead.

Night Maiden and Swordtress

Night Maiden and Swordtress

When summoned, you will call upon 2 spirits that wield flowing weapons. The good news is that you summon 2 sisters each with their own HP bars. Both of them deal a lot of damage and can tank quite a few hits before going down.

However, summoning them uses a lot of FP, so make sure that you have FP flasks ready after you call them.

Skeletal Militiaman Ashes

Skeletal Militiaman Ashes

This is a great Spirt Ash in Elden Ring as it allows you to summon the spirits of 2 skeletal militiamen. While the spirits are a bit weak, they will resurrect after dying. Until the enemy properly finishes them off, these skeletons will continue to rise and attack your foe.

This can be great to remove the aggro of bosses from your character. You can run around for a while and wait for the skeletons to rise again. Once they do, attack the boss or enemy while they are distracted by your summons.

Omenkiller Rollo

Omenkiller Rollo

Once a famous perfumer, Rollo imbibed a physick to rid himself of emotion, thus enabling him to enact his nightmarish labor, hunting the Omen. This is a strong summon that can cause bleeding damage to the enemy. However, it uses a lot of FP which is a major downside. If you do not level up your Mind stat, you might not be able to summon it.

Wretch Build Playstyle

The Wretch class is extremely diverse and versatile. Depending on how you want to build and play this character, you can do it. Since no stat is prioritized during the start, you can put points and make any aspect stronger.

If you prefer to have a lot of HP and fight enemies without any worries, then make sure that you put a lot of points in STR, Vigor, and Endurance. This will allow you to use large weapons and heavy armor without any issues.

On the other hand, if you prefer fast-paced weapons, then make sure that you put points in DEX, Arcane, and Endurance. This will allow you to use bleed weapons like katanas.

Alternatively, you can also choose to put points in either Faith or INT to use Incantations or sorceries respectively. Make sure that you put points in Mind as well so that you have a lot of FP to use these spells.

Conclusion

That’s everything you need to know about the best Wretch build in Elden Ring. This is a great class if you like building whatever you want. The best part is that you can use some of the best swords in the game alongside spells because this is an open-ended build.
