Players in Call of Duty Warzone, the dedicated Battle Royale mode of the game, are now reporting increased activity of split-second disruptions on their screens. These are happening at random intervals and it seems that the build-up for the Call of Duty 2020 August 10th reveal could be real.

Call of Duty 2020 is definitely going to launch within Modern Warfare 2019

It seems that there are a few cryptic events taking place in Call of Duty Warzone right now. Players are reporting split-second pieces of texts appearing on the screen, with one of them being in Russian.

The text translates to “Doomed to repeat it”. this is taken from a famous quote:

“Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” by writer and philosopher George Santayana.

This is a brilliant move from Activision as the game is currently free to play and is offering a double XP weekend for everything in the game. What better way to hype the game when its at peak players?

For now, it seems that there are contradictory reports of whether or not August 10th will be the date we will finally see Call of Duty 2020 surface.

By then the free weekend will be over, but I think the purpose of these images is to create hype and intrigue in the players, which so far its doing in spades.

It has been a while and if Activision has hopes of creating hype with the next-generation launch, the coming Monday is the best time to do it.

For now, the messages being sent are random and the ones we were able to gather at the time of writing this. Perhaps more will appear as time passes, but this is indeed the beginning of something great.

What are your thoughts on the latest promotion? A first for Activision definitely and it seems that they’re taking a page out of Fortnite’s playbook.
