In a new report by Insider-Gaming, they share new information which states that even the upcoming Call of Duty 2024 could still be a cross-generation title, meaning it could see a release on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, which would be a major surprise if Activision still decides to support the consoles that far into the future.
Call of Duty 2024 Might Stick To Multiple Platforms
Even though we are now entering the 3rd year of the new console generation, Activision is still releasing new entries of the Call of Duty franchise to the PS4 and Xbox One. While visually, both consoles are unable to present the same image quality they do of their newer counterparts, they are still able to hold a stable 60FPS for gameplay in multiplayer which is by far the most important aspect to focus on.
In Tom Henderson’s new report, it was originally suggested that the 2023 Call of Duty entry would be exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, but it seems that Activision may have had a change of heart now and is looking to keep the net as wide as possible when it comes to releasing their titles for the foreseeable future, despite the hardware shortcomings.
Currently, all of this is speculative as these are all rumors and leaks from various sources, and we can only wait and see what happens down the road when it comes to future Call of Duty releases.
