Cities Skylines 2 finally has a release date, and we got to see gameplay during the Xbox Showcase 2023. The first title was released back in 2015, and it’s nice to see the new highly ambitious entry targeting current-generation consoles as well as PC. With the store pages up, we now have more technical details about the PC version. Here are the official Cities Skylines 2 system requirements.
Update 29-09-23: The requirements have been updated
Cities Skylines 2 System Requirements
Minimum | Recommended | |
---|---|---|
OS | Windows 10 Home 64 Bit | Windows 10/11 Home 64 Bit |
Processor | Intel® Core™ i7-6700K / AMD® Ryzen™ 5 i7-6700K | Intel® Core™ i5-12600K | AMD® 7 5800X |
Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB |
Graphics | Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 970 (4 GB) | AMD equivalent | Nvidia® GeForce™ RTX 3080 (10 GB) | AMD equivalent |
DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
Sound Card | TBC | TBC |
Some aspects of the requirements haven’t been revealed yet, which I’ll update accordingly but for now, if you’re looking to play at higher settings, you’ll need something like an RTX 3080 paired with an i5-12600K. This is a fairly demanding game, and it makes a lot of sense because of how many systems there are, with such a high degree of rendering as shown in the gameplay reveal.
However, if you’re fine with turning down some settings, even a GTX 970 with 4 GB of VRAM paired with a Ryzen 5 2600X is enough. We hope this is an indication of scalability and optimization for lower-end systems. 16 GB of RAM is recommended, and there is no mention of DirectX 11.
