Destiny 2’s Christmas event for 2021, the Dawning, is back again. Not much has changed since last time, but we do have some new buddies to share the festive cheer with.
This year, the Dawning comes with two new quests, three returning weapons, and a brand new one:
- The new Stasis Sword – Zypher
- The Solar Machine Gun – Avalance
- The Kinetic SMG – Cold Front
- The Void Fusion Rifle – Glacioclasm
To Earn those goodies, we’re once again being charged with delivering tasty treats to our allies around the tower, and beyond. Oh, and we have to bake the stuff ourselves, too.
It turns out that playing baker is far more difficult than fighting Savathun. There are over 20 ingredients that all go into different recipes with different combinations. I’ve compiled a comprehensive list of those ingredients, as well as how you can get them.

Best Way to Get Dawning 2021 Ingredients in Destiny 2
The best way to get ingredients this year in Destiny’s 2021 Christmas event is to play the new 6-player activity Dares of Eternity.
Every single ingredient in the game is obtained through combat – whether that be killing certain enemies or using certain weapons. Dares of Eternity fulfills both of those requirements.
The number of ads you kill in that activity is far higher than anything else in the game, especially for how long it takes to finish a run of it. You only have access to three of the six enemy types in DoE, though, so you will have to mix it up with some different strikes and missions.
Running Dares of Eternity will also net you a bunch of Treasure Keys, Strange Coins, and increase your Strange Favor rank. So if you haven’t got your hands on the Marathon Armor, you can kill two birds with one stone.
