EA has announced a Black Panther game is in development at Cliffhanger Games, based in Seattle. So far, this is only the announcement with no plans for platforms, release date, or otherwise mentioned. Coincidentally, Motive Studios is already working on an Iron Man game, so EA seems to be taking the Avengers one at a time.
A Game Dedicated To Black Panther
While the details on the game are minimal at best presently, the little we know comes from Kevin Stephens, the lead on the project. According to him, the game will be a story-driven sandbox game.
“We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game. Wakanda is a rich Super Hero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do,”
Kevin Stephens statement on Black Panther game
While we do not yet know the release date, platforms, celebrity presence, or otherwise pertaining to Black Panther yet, we are sure more news for the title will come in the months to follow.
Black Panther has mostly been a guest character in other Marvel Games, but this will the first time the leader of Wakanda will be the center of his own game, and we are excited at the prospect of exploring the technologically advanced city once it does release.
After the exceptional work by Motive Studios on the Dead Space Remake, we can’t wait to see what Cliffhanger does with Black Panther.
