Square Enix has finally revealed the Forspoken System Requirements a week before its official release. Forspoken is coming to PC and PS5, and like Luminous Productions’ previous title for PC, this is a demanding release. The title is scheduled to release this month, and while we don’t have PC impressions just yet, the game ran quite well on the PS5. Here are the complete requirements with three presets shared by Square Enix.
Forspoken System Requirements
To play the game on PC, you need the following specifications.
Forspoken Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-Bit (After November 2019 Update) or Windows 11 64-Bit
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (3.7 GHz or better), Intel Core i7-3770 (3.7GHz or better)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB
- Memory: 16 GB
- Display Resolution: 720p 30FPS
- HDD/SSD Space: HDD 150 GB or more
Forspoken Recommended Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-Bit (After November 2019 Update) or Windows 11 64-Bit
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.7 GHz or better), Intel Core i7-8700K (3.7GHz or better)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB
- Memory: 24 GB
- Display Resolution: 1440p 30FPS
- HDD/SSD Space: SSD 150 GB or more
Ultra Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-Bit (After November 2019 Update) or Windows 11 64-Bit
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5800X (3.8 GHz or better), Intel Core i7-12700
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT 16 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB
- Memory: 32 GB
- Display Resolution: 2160p 60FPS
- HDD/SSD Space: NVMe 150 GB or more
This is a fairly demanding title, and you need a pretty powerful PC to get a decent experience. If you’re looking to play the title at 1440p with 30FPS in mind, then you need something like a GTX 3070 with 8 GB of VRAM paired with a Ryzen 5 3600. Things get even more demanding if you’re looking to play at 4K, and you’ll need something like an RTX 4080 or AMD 6800 XT to attain 60 FPS.
It’s not just the CPU and GPU, but you need a lot of RAM, even if you’re planning on playing at 1440P. An odd combination, but 24 GB is recommended, 32 GB for 4K. 150 GB or “more” free space is required, and an SSD or NVMe is recommended.
Overall though, this is arguably one of the most demanding titles we’ve seen in a while, and it will be interesting to see how the game runs on different configurations and what we might need to play at 1080p.
