Many fans of the Grand Theft Auto series have been dying for the release of GTA 6, wishing they would stop teasing us with it and finally announce the game’s release. However, whilst GTA 6 is in full development, and has been for some time, Rockstar has continued to release huge updates for GTA 5 Online every single year, 2023 being no different.

On the 13th of June, the San Andreas Mercenaries update hit PC, Playstation, and Xbox players, providing new Freemode content, Story Missions, and more:

  • HSW Upgradable Grotti Itali GTO Stinger TT
  • HSW Upgradable Maibatsu MonstroCiti

Rockstar has also updated the Smuggler Hangar, providing new Sources and Sell Cargo Missions, new staff, and more. Additionally, they have added new content for Career progression, including GTA Online challenges for next-gen players. Overall, the San Andreas Mercenaries update is a huge update to GTA Online, providing a mix of content and hotfixes to improve the overall quality of play.

Rockstar Removes 189 Vehicles from GTA Online

Rockstar developers had previously warned fans that they would be removing “many lesser-used vehicles” before they would be launching the San Andreas Mercenaries expansion. As Rockstar tends to add content rather than remove it, fans assumed that many of these cars would be those that are old, outdated, and hardly purchased by players.

However, as fans have discovered in the last few days Rockstar has actually removed roughly 189 cars and bikes from GTA Online as part of the San Andreas Mercenaries update release. Unfortunately, to make matters worse Rockstar has chosen to place some of these previously free cars behind their new GTA+ service, which currently costs $6-a-month, and is only available to next-gen players, excluding previous-gen and PC players. Lastly, some vehicles have even been relegated to occasional appearances in-game through the weekly events.

I can already see Grand Theft Auto fans running to their consoles as we speak to check if their garage is suddenly empty. But fear not, as if you currently own the vehicles, having purchased them pre-update, it appears that you will still have access to these vehicles to drive around and keep at your leisure.
